He'll do it twice, with a career high of 33. He'll get 20 just about every year though. Another Dubinsky/Callahan type.

Step will be better than Dubinsky or Callahan, at least offensively. Same number of goals, but more assists, maybe significantly more.

I think he'll mostly improve on the assist side, but I can see him hitting 30 a couple of years. I hope he'll be a consistent 60 point guy with the majority being assists.

Honestly 30 goals a year aren't nearly as important as whether or not he manages to consistently to put up close to or better than a point per game. If his goal total is always in the 20-25 range, but he's putting up 70-90 points every year, then who cares?

Forget Richards or Thorton. If we are talking about Stepan being a great assists man I'd rather him be more like this guy:

Derek Roy 2.0 - Hopefully he is a constant 25+ goal 40+ assist player.

Well I tend to be one of the more optomistic around here but to me, he's going to be an 75 point guy in a year or two and thereafter. Give or take a few, 30 every year is very possible.

No he is not. Thornton is the premier regular season player in the NHL. Richards is a Conn Smythe winner. Richards>>>>>>>Thornton

So because he has a Conn Smythe it immediately makes him a better player? It's one playoff tun. Thornton has a Hart and an Art Ross - as well as 1000 points. He's pretty much a lock for the HoF. Richards, not so much.

The only way he gets into my Hall of Fame is if he buys a ticket.

I lol'd.

Jumbo Joe is the running joke of the NHL. Exemplifies the regular season hero, playoffs zero.

If I want an Art Ross trophy winner I take Joe Thornton. If I want a Cup I take Brad Richards.

Richards>Thornton.

i would be thrilled if Stepan could get 20 goals and 35-40 assists every year.i just dont see him as this perenial 75-80 point player like a few other do.

hooray for maths!

And hooray for hope:

70 plus assists is attainable if Kreider and Thomas combine for 70 goals as his linemates.

As I saidl; Hooray for Hope!!!
