Do you all have a death wish? Right now a key injury or two at the wrong time could put you into some trouble as you have little Cap manueverability. And this would make it worse. If I were a Flyers' fan I would want at least some room even if only the very little that you have left to be able to plan for that occassion which given a few of your players histories, Forsberg especially, would seem prudent.

The flyers have 1.5 million dollars under the cap with a full team. That makes the Roenick acquisation very feasable, but would require that the flyers deal someone if they wished to acquire Bondra and maintain some cap flexibility. The flyers are not great on the wings, but Gagne, Carter, Knuble, Radivojevic, Kapanen, Sharp, Stevenson, and Brashear really isn't too bad. It's not exceptional, but it's not awful either, especially when you consider the rest of the team.

I think the flyers are more likely to trade Brashear or Stevenson to get a more offensive winger than sign bondra...unless its cheap and short term

The $1.5M assumes that the Flyers will not have to add players during the season to take care of week to week injuries. Salary substitution can only occur if a player is out for almost a month. That is why it is somewhat dangerous to sign a guy like Forsberg - his physical style has him going in and out of the lineup all year long, yet he is smart enough to avoid most injuries that would take him out of the lineup for any long period of time. Having to pay Forsberg along with the player that will go in and out of the lineup to replace him for the games that he misses could eat into that cushion quickly, not to mention having to replace any other regulars on a short term basis.
