Minus Gonchar, their next 5 defensemen are no better than the Manchester Monarchs top 5 defensemen last year...what are they going to do to address that?

They'd better get some support for Marc Andre Fleury.

Fleury won't be playing in the NHL this season. The Pens traded for Thibuilt.

You're worried about John LeClair; a guy with a bad back, slow as a turtle, and hasn't scored past 25 goals in this century?

...

No kidding.

Maybe CP should petition to have the Penguins renamed the Pittsburgh Kings, considering all the injuries they'll have this year.

- Tarnstrom, top 10 among offensive Dmen is an AHL defenseman?
- Orpik, one of the best young defensive defensemen in the league is an AHLer?
- Melichar, a defensive specialist is an AHLer?
- Jackman put up a point a game with the Penguins. Remains to be seen how he does this year, but he surely didn't play as an AHLer last year.

Pittsburg has improved immensely offensively....but i would hardly consider them to be an offensive juggernaut

I think they are going to score a ton of goals. Adding: Palffy, Crosby, Malkin, LeClair and Gonchar has got to do wonders for one's offense!

(has Malkin been signed yet?)

There's this guy named Mark Recchi who got 75 points in 2003/04, too.

tjarnqvist 16g 36a 52pts.. yea minus 37, but that team was brutal
jackman 9g 21a 30pts another minus but yea the team was brutal like i said
orpik 10 pts in 79 gms, another huge minus but a lot of pims, 127, hard hitting dman
whitney 41 pts in 80 gms in his rookie year in the AHL, 101 pims, -12

there young but far from horrible... defensively they need to learn team defense, but after that, um, i dont think they are AHL calibar at all, way better

I'm not sure but I *think* Malkin has to spend another year in Russia. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.
