If Chicago wants another defenseman to help that area, this is one guy who they might want to consider. Calgary has too many defenseman now and he's the most likely (and cheapest) to move. He'd fit in well with the Hawks.

I like him as a Dman, but the Hawks have too many coming up too. I'd personally rather have one of our younger guys step up.

I don't think Calgary is in the position to ask for much anyways. They have to drop a defenseman or lose Montador for nothing, or carry seven the entire season.

flames aren't about to lose him for nothing. they could go into the season with Phaneuf in the AHL and be under cap with Montador as 7th d

having said that , I would doubt the Flames are looking for a NHL contract, at least a big one, in return for Lydman

probably a decent prospect, one who is on a two way deal , could play in AHL and be a year or two away from being a good NHL contributor
