At least this explains why he played so poorly in the playoffs. We weren't going anywhere with no Hiller and a 50% Lubo so I don't feel quite as bad that we lost now.

I really hope he's 100% ready for next season though. I don't like the fact that he is playing in the WHCs. Get some rest Lubo! You deserve it.

Anyone know if he will need surgery? I never heard any details on the shoulder injury.

I think someone said that if he is ready to play he's only used in PP (first game atleast) but who knows what they're up to.

Dont like that either. Its very risky to play like that. What's he gonna explain if it turns out bad? "But I wanted to..."? For the medal-games i guess i could accept it but if they're not good enough to get there without him they shouldnt use him, period. Health first.

You could almost scrap all three of those guys and use just Pacific Division players as replacements. That Lubo and Yandle were nominated is mind-blowing.

This is not a good idea... I mean he couldn't even hold his son how is he going to shoot the puck from the blueline?

Hopefully he just QBs the PP and doesn't do anything else. I'd be surprised if that happened especially since Chara won't be there.

I think Lubo should remember who pays his salary.

Poor judgement IMO, he should be getting surgery on that shoulder, not playing in the Worlds

TBF Lidstrom had a better overall year, Letang looked good for the first half, and once Crosby was out, he looked very average

lubo playing for slovakia worries me a ton but what are you gonna do.. the pride he has in being slovakian is inspirational to say the least.. hopefully he goes through the tournament without suffering any injuries and is ready to go next year..

More like, doesn't want shoulder surgery. It's a bad place to be injured, and never really heals back to before...even with surgery. Shooting 3 shots of cortizone into your shoulder before every game probably didn't do it any favors either. That said, the optics of playing now, rather than resting during the offseason, and trying to rehabilitate it through physical therapy....seem at odds with giving the Ducks your very best come next season. Just saying.

I think Coyotes would probably have to throw in Doan and Turris at least to make this work.

How's my Leaf fan impersonation?

im sure he really wants to play in his home country and this could very well be his last chance to do that....dont blame the guy, really hope he is able to get healthy in the offseason and doesnt miss any time for the ducks but if he does, such is life and he will have to live with that

Somehow I knew Glen Hanlon will throw him on the ice all the time.

Maybe the huge playing time heals his shoulder

Gritty Finnish forward Leo Komarov just hit Visnovsky clean...and it looked like the shoulder got hurt (not sure) and Vis walked with pain to the locker room

Bob and Lubo, was it worthy?

.....................................

So we are also talking Vis at Worlds in Norris thread....mods maybe to change this to Visnovsky discussion?

Visnovsky might have been the top TOI skater in Slovakia team...and first it was just disccussion about playing in PP...

I'm so pissed off about this.

I hope they shut him down after this and send him back to Orange County to get some surgery...

I hope Vishnovsky doesn't play in Slovakia's last game. He should go straight to surgery so he is ready to play when the next season starts.

A lot of what these guys are saying is right, but the PK thing bugs me, that's not his decision. that's all Carlyle.

If you want to win the Norris purely as a offensive d-man, you gotta get 82 points.

Vis should be getting the nod over Chara though, award should belong to Weber. Lidstrom could easily still win.. but Weber was much better this year.

I think it comes down to some voters deciding to vote Lidstrom because it will put him one behind Bobby Orr. Kinda baffles me how Lidstrom has a distant, yet very serious shot to tie Orr's record probably zero chance to get past 8, he'd have to play a loooong time. He isn't exactly falling apart. lol
