edit: whoops, did a search but the other thread didn't come up. MOD - feel free to delete or move this.
The search engine on this site is terrible and needs to be updated. I either get thousands of different threads show up when I specifically am looking for one thread, or I can never find a thread even when I type in a very specific word, don't understand it at all.

as I said before, it's Shy-flee

2 syllables...

I heard that from OHL broadcasts of Barrie games this year. I assumed the commentators knew the correct pronunciation.

I'd say he goes 10-20. This is my favourite player in the draft. He was a playmaker for most of the year and then started scoring a lot of goals late in the year. An assassin on the power play and kills penalties also, will practically skate right through an opponent to disposses them of the puck.

Not saying he's similar to Getzlaf, but my prediction is that teams will be wondering why they didn't take this guy higher, much as I imagine teams thought that about Getzlaf post draft.

the first sylabol is pronouced shy, the second sylabol is pronounced the same way as the second sylabol of the word shuffle.

Schiefele (Shy-flea) is from my hometown (Kitchener Ontario), former defenseman turned forward. This guy isnt getting past the Habs and my hope is him or Zib... you know how im talking about, become a Canadien on june 24th. This guy was unreal for Canada at the U-18's took away the spotlight from every player coming into the tournament. Go Habs Go! (By the way if he shot more at the beginning of the year, he'd be top 10 for sure)

I'm hoping the Leafs move up to draft him. Montreal certainly would be a surprise as Timmins hasn't exactly drafted a lot of OHL forwards. Lots of Americans in the first round no?

Not many solid Americans will be available at our pick, Oleksiak might be gone by then IMO but even if he isn't I'd pass for Scheifele, Biggs should be a late 1st rounder, Grimaldi, not sure they dare draft him with all our size issues.

I agree that Miller is, Grimaldi I don't think we'll take a chance on.

JT Miller is rising. My original post though I meant Timmins picks a lot of Americans 1st round, not that there were lots of Americans in the 2011 1st round. I should've worded that better.

Scheifele will be a steal of a pick. He is comparable to Ryan Johansen and a poor man Joe Thornton ceiling

Doesn't skate fast from standstill but can get up to speed with his long strides.

What we all saw during the U 18 tourney with him scoring 6 or 7 goals with no assist is not his game. He has excellent vision and likes to pass. His hockey iq is great. Can digest the frantic pace of the game better than most players

Catenacci and McNeill really didn't step up and take offensive roles like they were expected to (at least by me) at the U18, and that's great news for Scheifele...because he certainly did. Wowed me, that's for sure. Didn't think he had as much jam in his game as he showed, either.

Redline's Kyle Woodlief was all gaga over Scheifele--BUT Scheifele to me did not look that impactful in Canada's last 2 games ....gettingmost of his points aearlier vs. the weak sisters of the tournament does not impress me..I think he lack top elite speed and I wass not impressed with his physical play-so I question his upside as a top 2 line centre...but I am not a professionally paid scout -some of thise love Scheifele's "potential" his upside onec he fills out his body, gets stronger and more confident-MAYBE --but that is not a sure thing that just filling out will make him a top 2 line NHL talent..

I was more impressed by MILLER who already IS a better skater and much more physical -to me he probably willnever be a top line centre-BUT his 2-way game ,spped and physical willingness DOES scream out 2nd line centre ability--looks like a KESLER clone to me.

I like Miller 's game NOW over Scheifele's ...IF Scheifele achieves all the upside some project for him-then down the line maybe he is the more impactful NHL'erof the two..but right now-I see MILLER being the better bet.

To you maybe but Scheifele was impressive all tournement, in every game and was Canada's best player that didn't start with Mur- and end with -y.

Article Snippet:

"At 6'3, 180 lbs, Scheifele has plenty of room to grow into his tall lanky frame. Built in the playmaker's mold, the Kitchener native brings plenty to the table that teams look for when building center strength.

An agile skater, Scheifele has a keen ability to break away from opponents with a long powerful and fluid stride. When he gets going, it's quite hard to get him off balance for a defenseman. His top speed is nothing to write home about, but shouldn't be a problem for him going forward.

Bringing a lacrosse background to the table, Scheifele has very soft hands that he is more than happy to show off when he can. At the CHL Top Prospects game, he was able to dazzle the crowd during the skills competition with a lacrosse-like move.

When in a position to shoot, Scheifele has a quick shot that he can get off pretty quick. Scheifele also brings good hockey sense to the table. Knowing where to be and when allow him to make the most of his talents on the ice.

What separates Scheifele from many others; work ethic. One of the first on and off the ice, Scheifele is a quality kid who works hard for everything he gets.

Scheifele making his way into the mid-first round of ISS's rankings is completely justified IMO. He's too good to be going lower than some of bigger names (Biggs, Saad, and Ambroz) originally touted to go high.

The more I read about Scheifele, the more I hope the Hawks grab him at #18 if he's still on the board. Fits with our other prospects and future like a glove.

I wouldn't get my hopes up....as a Ranger fan, I'm starting to worry he won't be there at 15.

He likely won't be there, not with the way he played at the U-18's. I could see a team like him enough to take him top 12.

After Zibanejad and McNeill I think he's the next Center gone. Puts him somewhere in the 10-20 range, however there are a lot of teams that I think will look for a center in this draft.

Every team from 14-18 has a shot at him, personally I think that will look like a steal in a few years.

I actually think at this point, there is just as a good a chance he goes before McNeil, as after. Both should go in the 9-15 range. Z-Bad likely to go before either, but not a sure thing depending on the preference of teams in that draft range.

Buffalo badly needs a center in its pipeline, and I was hoping his U18 Tourney didn't raise his stock too much. I'm hoping he makes it to Buffalo, but I'd settle for McNeill (assuming he is still there).

Grew up with the kid put him on my favourite team. Timmins can go to hell if he doesn't make sure this kid is on the Habs. Go Mark Go!
