Dude, this isn't even the full list yet and it's pretty crazy.

Because after a year with a short off-season, things add up. I think I heard that no one has played more games between this season and last season, plus the Olympics, than Mike Richards.

196 games in the last two seasons IIRC. Richards needs to get himself away from the rink for a while.

It's crazy, because he's only missed, what? One game?

I think Timonen has to be in competition for second place on the list as well. Maybe Duncan Keith sneaks in between them.

Add Hartnell to the injured list. Might need surgery on his hip.

Actually Timonen played the same amount (1 less in the Olympics, but didn't miss a game in the NHL).
Keith played five less.

Those three combined missed 1 game during that period. Ridiculous.

Fire McCrossin...he's been around too long anyway..he's going to become the next Lemelin in this organization who was shocked at being fired after being a lousy goaltending coach for eons. Didn't know tenure was granted to conditioning coaches...

I think he's still in the investigation stage, as is Hartnell and Timonen.

It's a lengthy list, but the one that blows me away is Leighton. Now he needs additional surgery? Really?? ****ing Holmgren.

"The Destructible Man" would be a good nickname.

He would need to be in a body cast as well. And possibly life support.

And, even while on a hospital bed, he'd still find a way to let a puck through his legs.

People wonder why they fell apart in the play-offs?

I think having 7-8 guys putting off surgery to play is a pretty big thing.

It will be curious to also see how many injuries the Stanley Cup finalists this year have between them....

Sorry but this team faltering in the second half and going in like a lamb into the playoffs was not just about injuries..much more fundamental issues. Not downplaying the injuries just not going to use them as crutch...

According the Flyers website Richards has been dealing with wrist problems ALL SEASON. The Flyers medical staff must be a joke

There's always injuries, but having so many that require surgery and won't just heal over time is somewhat out of the ordinary. There are changes that need to be made anyway, but it's more like "who is expendable to sign a legit goalie" rather than "let's break this team up."

One has to wonder if they are overtraining in some cases and undertraining in other cases. With training we all know one size does not fit all. Training needs to be reassessed in the offseason among other things obviously. With a coach like Lavy and and trainer like McCrossin might want to temper things a bit so that this team is not so gassed and prone to injuries more than the norm as you have pointed out...

It's possible, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess most of these injuries resulted from repeated contact during games. Just something that was bothering them, but they let it go. It got worse because they didn't take any time off to rest it, and they just hid it. I'm sure training too hard could have exacerbated the injuries but they were likely going to happen anyway.

Sure...however sometimes if fatigued mentally and physically from overtraining or undertraining (not in shape) you are prone to lapses on the ice that can cause you to get injured more easily. Kind of like driving in Europe in an urban setting and even places here like NYC, NJ and Boston (M*******s)...if you are a tentative cautious driver good luck!
