This is the year we trade up, or trade away. Nothing else does us any good being at 15th overall.

Bite the bullet and try to get a top 5 pick, or trade it away for something that can help NOW.

Why is this year any different from all other years?

I agree completely with this. Either trade up or use that pick in a package to bring in one of the elite pieces that Scheony was talking about.

I don't think they would.

If any year is the year a lottery team should move back, it's 2012. If the depth truly turns out to be great. I think it would benefit a team greatly moving back 5-10 spots as the talent drop-off won't be that much. If I had the 5th pick, I'd try to trade down to 10-15 for another 1st rounder and maybe a 2nd rounder.

THN Draft Preview is out. Didn't get it yet. THN has terrible delivery in the US. Not on Zinio yet

Adrian Dater has the issue

1-RHN
2-Larsson
3-Langeskog

#11 is Mika

Quote:
Mika Zibanejad, 18, C, 6-2, 191: Hes a powerful skater, has a good shot and finishes his checks, one scout said. I think hes going to go in the top 10, but I wouldnt be shocked to see him in the top 5.

Another scout said: Hes a strong kid who can play center or wing. Hes not physical, but he drives the net.

If the Rangers can swing a trade with the Wild @#10,take Mika.

Trade up to 10 and take Mika.

That would be my ideal draft, I suppose.

I'd be quite happy to trade one of our second rounders to move up and snag Zibanejad.

You didn't get it yet? I got mine last week.

Do you want me to post their rankings?

They had good things to say about some of the guys ranked around where we pick.

Khokhlachev and McNeil in particular got good reports.

Which is a reason I hope we don't trade away our seconds. Because we can get good value from our draft positions in the first two rounds.

Rangers are very familiar with him since he plays with Thomas on the team Adam Graves is a minority owner in. I'm sure if the three Gs (Gordie, Gorton, and Graves) feel he is their guy, then I trust them.

Yeah i remember watching him in this playoffs and he seemed to step it up and be a very important player for the gennies. I know his top end potential is probably only that of a 2nd line center, but to be honest i wouldn't be upset if we picked up (and i'd love it if we could get someone like khoklachev AND him)

Plus, would love to here BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE at the garden

If they're watching someone in Oshawa, I sure as hell hope it's Nick Jensen. Smooth stride, deceptive speed, and a hell of a release. Could be a very good 2nd line winger at the NHL level.

Was just watching his highlight video that someone posted in the prospects board. He also looks great.

I want to move up to get Ryan Murphy. I would package our first pick and any of our prospects except Kreider and McIlrath for Murphy

out of any of the players expected to be in the 7-20 pick range, who are the ones that are best at puck possession and have high offensive hockey IQs?

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. He's the guy from that team (other than Thomas) that I'd have an interest in. Definitely a guy on my list of possible picks for the Rangers this year. Jensen > Jenner.

Mind forwarding that to me, as well? Maybe the write up of Khokhlachev, too, if it isn't too much trouble? I'd love to see what they wrote.
