"And also find the two top-Defender for the first block appears to be the manager to be've found: In the short list anyway Andrew Hutchinson (Wilkes-Barre), Andre Benoit (Binghamton), Nolan Baumgartner (Manitoba) and Sheldon Souray (Hershey) moved."
Gives a little perspective on Souray's value, look at who he is being compared to. Yikes!
Also there are some news from the Adler Mannheim. GM Teal Fowler assumes, that top forward Steven Reinprecht could now however come back in the summer. "The signals are positive", said Fowler after his return from North America.
As well in his search for two top defenders for their first pairing the GM looks like he has been succesfull: Andrew Hutchinson (Wilkes-Barre), Andre Benoit (Binghamton), Nolan Baumgartner (Manitoba) und Sheldon Souray (Hershey) have gotten on his shortlist.
Tried my own translation (hope it's at least a bit better than google's ).
I really don't know what to think about this. Sure Mannheim is one of the richer teams, but I'm not sure how much money they can invest, especially when according to the article they as well plan to bring back Reinprecht, because even if Souray gets just loaned, they'd have to swallow some of his salary.
Considering that in terms of money it actually would make no sence for us to loan him, a buy-out seems more realistic and then I think he'd get a chance to play somewhere in NA.
PS: Hensick to ERC would awesome.
Hit the road Schütz and never come back this time.
I hope so too, but not a big deal of they don't. Last year and he's done!
Saves $1.5 million in salary if they buy him out. Not going to need the cap space the next 2 seasons anyways.
But, honestly, the Oilers with a buyout his summer would have paid him $7.5 million to not play in the NHL. Could have saved themselves an extra $1.5 million buying him out last season or maybe if they were lucky, put him on re-entry waivers at start of last season and pay him $4.5 million over the 2 years.
