What is generally the time of year (months) we should definitely hear about expansion, relocation, etc? Obviously it takes time to get everything in order before the puck is dropped.

Around the "summer" Board of Governors meeting (which can be held during the final round and/or post season events).

For ECHL, IIRC, BOG meeting will be early June.

And some years things drag on into July and August. Just settle back and watch -- we'll know when we'll know, and not earlier.

Unless somehow you see NHL owned AHL teams brought out West I honestly don't think much will happen unless the CHL falls apart the ECHL might gain a franchise or two. Other then the obvius(Victoria) I don't see anyone folding. Could be really interesting or incredibly boring this season more than usual

Historically, the ECHL has announced their "next" season schedule in/around the final round of playoffs.

NHL in the past has announced schedule in mid-July, but last year released it between awards and draft in late June.

The AHL usually doesn't announce their schedule until August.

Manchester & Worcester are highly unlikely heading west, if at all, since both are prime tenants @ VWA/DCU, ADD to tht, existing contract leases w/ said buildings...

if AEG LOSES THE LA Kings, you automatically put both the Reign and Monarchs in play among other properties (real estate/Galaxy.....)

might be a bit earlier, LS, IT'S Only been August bc NBA Teams have precedence over those AHL Teams which share arenas, but NBA Faces the same issues tht Bettman and the NHL faced in '04; similiar to the NFL and its labor deal.

For the NBA "death watch", keep an eye on the BOH as it's being monitored there.

Until the playoffs are done and the rhetoric replaces the action on the board, one may not be able to accurately determine the resolution on each side of the negotiations.

Yeah Hutchie BUT don't the Kings and Sharks somewhat own their ECHL affiliates?(I think because of AEG for example the Kings could swap Manchester and Ontario if they wanted too)or so i'vce heard things alonng this line before...

huh?

SVSE (SJ) Doesn't own Stockton, nor did it own Fresno before tht, I believe Edmonton is the primary affilate for the Thunder......

as for MCH/WOR .... THERE IS Zero opportunity for your scenario, Jackals..... both franchises are in or under contract until 2015-16, and WOR Extended its lease in March (5-2-3, 3/10/11)

I think what they meant is that the Kings could swap Manchester and Ontario. Meaning that the Reign would move to the AHL and the Monarchs would move to the ECHL. I don't see that happening unless the Kings realize they have a bunch of yo-yo players that bounce between LA and the AHL.

Not directed at Hutch specifically, but is mid-October too early for ECHL games? I am heading to Vegas for the IndyCar race October 16 and was thinking if the Wranglers were around, I'd go to one of their games.

That's about when the season starts. First or second weekend, usually.

Yes thats what I meant, I also have heard about maybe San Jose doing the same thing.

Thats when the seasoin starts, actually. Whether Vegas will be home or not is another question you'll have to wait for.

Oh for sure. But I figured if the Wranglers were around, I might as well hit a game. The more I look into Vegas, the more the Vegas type attractions don't overly appeal to me. So hopefully, the Wranglers and Locomotives are home that week.

If I go to Vegas, I aint coming back....and it's more than likely because I wouldn't have the finances too.

There isn't much to do in Vegas(no offense to any residents here) unless you like to gamble and hit the slots. Believe me, to me that sounds like fun to be honest but I don't like the idea of probably losing all my money, lol.

So you like the IRL? I can't tell if your picture is a gimmick or not(not that it truly matters I guess) but I was gunna ask how do you feel about Danica Patrick? I guess to an extent being a male or female sort of matters. As a male I do praise her efforts, I know she's won once(but I think she caught a lucky break with a pit strategy or something in Japan) but I do think she's a tad bit out of her element and she's kind of a punk. I'm glad she doesn't let them take advantage of her out there but one day she's gunna cross paths with the wrong bozo(like a Kevin harvick or Kyle Busch)

Home openers must be starting to get released because I saw today that Trenton's first home game is Saturday October 22nd:

I'm not much of a gambler, so the casinos don't interest me. The only gambling I might consider is betting on sports. But even then I am not the type to drop $2000 on the outcome of the Super Bowl cointoss. Really, if IndyCar wasn't giving me a free ticket to the Vegas race for going to the race in Edmonton, I wouldn't be even thinking about heading there.

My avatar is Lacey Chabert. The Kings board had matching avatars during the 2009-10 season like that. Everybody had a different person on there.

I'm a CART/ChampCar fan from way back. I don't like Danica Patrick mostly because her talent does not begat the attention she got. Especially, her first season at the Indy 500, the media was all about her and didn't even give any attention to the actual winner. I also give her win at Motegi an asterix, it was a split weekend with the "ChampCar" finale running at Long Beach at the same time, so she only won because many of the big names were running at Long Beach that weekend. As I am a male, I also don't find her all that attractive. The drivers I like are Paul Tracy, Simona de Silvestro and Alex Tagliani.

I hope that isn't opening night for the ECHL, I have a thing about seeing unusual professional leagues (not meant as a slight, just meant as non-mainstream here) and I want to cross the ECHL (and the UFL) off my list.

There are two possibilities with a home opener that late: the ECHL is shortening the schedule (doubtful) or Trenton is opening on the road.
