I think his best years are behind him, and going forward I would rather give some of our kids a shot than go back to the old Rangers methods of signing aged superstars that eat away at salary cap and underperform.
Vinny Prospal says hello.

I don't know think Naslund was a bad acquisition for us at all. His stats are a little underwhelming, but he was a good player for us. I think he recognized he didn't have it in him to be a top 6 player anymore and retired after a year. Can't complain about that signing one bit.

And what kids would signing Gagne cause to not make the team? Grachev? Kreider and Thomas don't have contracts, I think MZA makes the team with or without Gagne. I get so tired of the "it will hold back the kids" argument when half our team is "kids"

Just remember folks... we are going to be soooo tight against that cap if BR signs here. And that is with a Drury or Wolski buyout. I know that the urgency for Ranger fans is to do this changeover all at once, but the ideal plan would be to spend the money (and possibly assets in a trade) only when necessary to bring in an elite player. One year deals are okay for those types of players (i.e. Gagne) if you want to bridge the gap between seasons in which you aren't filling a spot on the team with an elite player, but signing a player like Gagne to a long-term deal would be lunacy.

Given his style and workload there is almost no way Henrik plays another decade...his style is not conducive to a long career.

If Dvorak is avaiable i would much rather go after him if we were to sign Richards. Gaborik and Dvorak speed and Richards passing could cause and D trouble.
The only problem with Dvorak is he isn't a finisher

Gagne's not playing and is probably not going to play the rest of the playoffs due to yet ANOTHER concussion.

Not a player you want to bring in now.

Dvorak? Really? The guy is 34 and hasn't been a difference maker for years.
