Not sure why this topic is being passed over as I think its fairly important to the future of this franchise...but I think DW has done an admirable job so far and I'm glad he'll be back. But we shall see if he finally has backbone to get rid of some fan favorites.

I'm with you, I think he's done a great job. Even if the current group can't get it done, we've still got a solid foundation that will keep this team competitive for years to come.
How did they not wait till the end of the playoffs? What the hell? I swear I'm gonna pull a Terry Pegula and buy this team in 20 years if we don't win a cup by then. (and if i get rich obviously. )
the timing of this makes no sense at all. why not wait until the middle of hte off-season when no one will think it weird that the GM gets a 5 year extension right as we're watching the team he built flounder and falter and set themselves up with a game that they must win if they don't want to go down in pro sports infamy.
