Too far when they go to Charlotte they bus to Philly then fly to Charlotte.

Charlotte is 700 miles away & takes 11 hrs to drive.

Is Philly the closest large airport to Binghamton? Thought one of La Guardia or JFK would have been closer.

Im guessing its the cheapest, Philly is actually closer than NYC, its like 3 1/2 hours while NYC is like 4----4 1/2

Odd schedule due to availabilities at the arenas. Bingo will benefit with the extra time to heal bodies because of graduations and a concert.

yea, bingo has bcc graduation on thursday and trans siberian orch on friday. so it makes more sense to go tues, wed, sat rather than like a monday, tues sat or mon wed sat.
having that saturday game if necc is huge. maybe get a couple bus loads from ottawa, and the last sat home game was packed.

i gott imagine they could fly out of....syracuse (a little over an hour away)? or wilkes barre (hour and a half away)? they both have larger airports. i dunno, the long bus ride to philly doesnt make sense to me.

Anyone want to feel guilty for rooting for the Bingo Sens to eliminate the Checkers?

I don't feel bad at all. Although, definitely a really really uplifting story.

But every single hockey team have stories like this. I mean, I see Marlies/Leafs players every few weeks with similar stories.

Like the little kid who was a huge sens fan, and died during their stanley cup run.

So go B-SENS go!!

But I still love hearing these stories, because it really shows me there are truly great hockey players/people out there, and they are actually using what they have for good.

The guilt is tongue and cheek. Just wanted to highlight the story.

As for this being common place, I'd have to disagree. While yes these minor league teams often visit the hospitals and stuff, how many organizations have bought and furnished a home for a family who is moving largely to because of the team?

It's extraordinary. Literally.

Its true, not many minor league teams have bought a house for a family (if any). But I wouldn't be shocked to find similar stories (of great giving) out there. Fundraising is fairly easy to do, especially with a story like that family's. (if you had a story like that, and wanted to move for the team - I bet you could get a hockey team to raise money for you).

Lots of extraordinary things out there (even from hockey players).

But again, it is an amazing story --- I cried a little. lol.

Would love to get down to Bingo for one of these games, but the lack of week-end games (I don't expect em to need a game 5 ) and these f'ing record gas prices are making that nearly impossible. Hopefully both them and Hamilton take their Conference finals so I can actually get around to seeing a game in person.

Yeah, I'd also like to know for the Saturday game - although at 1.40 a litre of whatever the hell it is, I doubt I'll go.

Tues and Wed games will be easier then Sat night's (if necessary) Round 3 should draw some decent weeknight crowds but the weekend game will most likely get sold out..also Senschirp is working on getting 2 bus loads for that game vs 1 last time..

Interesting enough you can get tickets for the first two games but the Sat night one is not on sale now..

I may have found a workaround...I'll keep you posted. The thing is, someone complained to my manager about me setting up my desktop in the office. So my manager and I got into this long philosophical discussion about how people can bring laptops into the office but if I bring my desktop I'm a criminal. I have a EEEpc that I got for free from a friend...it could do the trick but I don't know what kind of FPS I'll get. Unfortunately I kind of broke something at work that caused a few issues company-wide so I've been pretty busy trying to fix some stuff. I'll try and test it this evening and see if this is worth risking my job.
