Russia has better individuals than Finland, but Finland has the better team. This edition of the Finnish team seems really upbeat compared to some of the last years teams.
I can smell a Finland-Sweden final, which would be, as always, awesome.
After the first Rus-Fin game, I have a lot of respect for Finns in this tournament. Granlund can cause some real problems, but mostly it will depend on Russia's ability to switch gears for Finland. They couldn't do it in 2006.
lol, that's homerism taken to a whole new level. Russia didn't play their best, but they don't have to win team Finland, who have struggled against pretty much every team thus far. We ain't gonna win Russia twice that's just the cold heart truth.
Lol thats negativism taken out to whole new level. To tell as a "cold heart truth" the result of next game. So how big money ur gonna bet if thats the truth
Both of these teams have a chance to take this one. Finland has to play their best game of the tournament in this one, with that they can beat anyone. I liked the game against checz, (we fell into scoring problems but played really good, lost 2-1), it is the best game and team effort of the tournament so far against the toughest team in this tournament. Repeat that, and it will take us very long against team like russia.

I mean we suck at footy but hockey supporters has lot to learn from footy supportes.
I agree. The Finnish hockey supporters you see at the WC's, they are...well, the word juntti comes to mind. Seems like the main thing for them is to be at the TV with "funny" costumes.
Not trying to troll here. I think there are some very good suppoter groups at the SM-liiga.
And actually, we've been pretty decent at the footy for some years. But now it's going downhill big time...

I'd love to see a similar support group for hockey as we have in football. It's always a pleasure to watch national football games thanks to them.

Heh, I think the word juntti would translate something like redneck or hillbilly.
I think that the support is better with the club teams in Finnish hockey also. These tournaments only attracts drunken tourists who really doesn't care about the sport.
I think Jokerit and HIFK from Helsinki and Kärpät from Oulu at least got almost football like supporter groups but I'm amazed that when it comes to national teams football is so much ahead in terms of support.

Yes. And to think how bad our football team has been doing lately (well always) they're still growing numbers. SMJK rules.
This is starting to be heavily off-topic, but I recently joined SMJK and I will be at the Sweden Away at Råsunda that will be special!
