That'd be nice...I could use a year where NHL offseason talk and MLB playoff races DON'T get buried behind the drudgery of prima donna NFL training camp fights, trade requests, nagging injuries, rumors, and holdouts.

They do. Its a flex game too, so it almost always has playoff implications. Jets hosted it in the 2009 season.

also, I'm guessing that in January I would be wearing my Rangers jersey but it may be under a winter jacket cause odds are that it would be balls cold out there....

Also, Rebecca, you're stuck with that nickname... not sure what bet you made but you're in with it now...

Would be nice to see the Rangers in a WC! Even when it´s in Cryers land.

I read some weeks before that when the Rangers will part of an outdoor game it wouldn´t be in NY because of the arenas arround here (Games, concerts and stuff at the time of the WC).

I´ll look if I can find the articel about that.

I'm more excited about watching 24/7 than the actual game.

January 2 will be the observed holiday. Wall Street is closed. Many other businesses will be closed. The bowl games are being played on January 2. It's not the first time the NFL played on January 1 which fell on a Sunday. The bowl games were moved to the 2nd.

No offense, but you are doing something wrong. It's not that hard to get tickets for the Giants. I've never had season tickets of my own, yet I've been to every game since 2000, including the game against New Orleans after Katrina hit and every playoff game. I even went to the game in London.

The tickets are available. Maybe it's just a matter of knowing people, I don't know. I've never had to use stub hub or any of those types of sites.

Last year I paid $95 per ticket (face value) for 2 seats in the upper deck. I got them from a guy who frequents the bar where my friend works. I think with the PSLs, you'll find plenty of people who bought the PSLs just so they could hold onto the seats, but are willing to sell some or all of their tickets. I guess the trick is to find someone who won't gouge you.

Dang I must be doing something wrong lol. I tried getting tickets to a game this year but couldn't find any for a good price.

Maybe because of the new stadium, I guess.

Awesome. Bets on whether or not Torts can out-swear Boudreau?

Me and my die hard flyers buddy =|. Are going to make the trip down from Alberta to see the game. I can only hope that rangers play a home game before this game so I get to go to msg for the first time.

24/7 would be great.

Though, all these distractions could hurt us this year.

Opening in Europe, Winter Classic, 24/7

Hope the guys can just focus.

Hopefully we find out Torts' favorite purveyor of ice cream.

I don't think it's possible. Actually, I think Torts will surprise a lot of people. I get the feeling he's a very intense guy, but not the type that's screaming and cursing all the time.

HBO Narrator:

"The Rangers Marian Gaborik, mired in a 32 game goal drought, is showing signs of life lately."

Cut to Gaborik limping around the locker room...

Narrator:

"But on this day, it looks like he's going to be watching from behind the glass, due to a freak sleeping injury."

I wear my sweater for every single Rangers-Flyers game in the Wachovia Center down here and the WC is going to be way more even fanbases than that could ever be.
