Just awful, but also part of the risk of playing a sport like hockey. Especially the role he played.

RIP Boogey.

Wow concussion related death I'm assuming, makes you realize just how fragile life really is expeciay being someone that plays a bunch of contact sports like myself. As much as this fan base was up and down on this guy this is heartbreaking news and certainly not the way I would have wanted this guy to leave the team. RIP BOOGY

So sad. I was just watching his fight videos today too, hoping he would have another chance to play. 28 is way too young...
RIP Boogeyman. You will be missed.

What in the hell...?

This is horrific news. So out of nowhere, too. I ragged on him so much, it feels terrible now with this news. RIP Boogey. Great guy.

Wow...I can remember earlier in the season my buddy and I joking about being "Booguardians", and even though neither of us cared much for him as a player, we both agreed that he seemed like a pretty decent guy.

28 is far too young for anyone. RIP, brother.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't. Everyone's body operates differently, and what some people can shake off, other might die from.

Hopefully they won't beat around the bush about the cause.

Of the millions of concussions athletes get, how many of them randomly pass away from them a couple months later? It just doesnt happen.

Wow, hate signing onto HFBoards and reading news like this. RIP Boogeyman, gotta wear my shirt as a tribute tomorrow. His goal against Washington was one of the highlights of the season for me.

Sad day.

Seriously.

I mean there were definitely signs that his career was over after this season, but his death just comes completely out of left field.
