so is it likely that the habs open next season without gorges, markov, and eller?

Or is Gorges pretty much a lock to be ready?

I think both Gorges and Markov should be ready for TC. Not sure but I think both their injuries are about 6 month rehab time. And they both had their operations in January I believe? Not sure but I'd think they would both be ready for training camp.

Mod edit:

Eller's new theme song. Guy is a tank for playing that injured. I really hope it didn't make the injury worse than it had to be

What a soldier though. These are the kinds of players you need to win Stanley Cups. Guys who are willing to sacrifice to win a cup.

Sorry.....wrote 4-6 weeks...but was aware of 4-6 months. Generally, you recover reasonably well and early from these surgeries....rehab takes a few months.....so he can build up his shoulders over that time.

Do you have one humorous bone in your body?

Well, as I stated in my post, whenever you go through a major injury, you will need complete rest for a period of time. With a shoulder surgery that puts him out at least 4months, I would assume the first 2months will be complete rest after which he'll start rehab.

As for building mass, you can do about a million exercises and say this or that is better for it, it's all BS. You will grow your muscles from nutrition. He needs to eat, eat and eat if getting bigger is the objective.

I broke my collarbone last summer, the first, and hopefully last, bone I ever broke. I know it is one of the most painful bones to fracture from what I've read, and I couldn't put any type of pressure on it for about 2months. The first two weeks, it was a pain just to run, but as it got better, I could definitely exercise my lower body.

So after Eller's shoulder becomes a little better, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to start working on his lower region.

As far as air squats or lunges not building any type of sustainable strength, you're simply wrong. Do 400m of walking lunges or 200-1000 squats and then come tell me it doesn't strengthen you. Not only do they make you stronger, but as you said, they improve balance and also, agility and coordination, which are key neurological skills for hockey players.
As for leg curls, extensions and pulley kicks, they aren't as effective, but can still be done if need be.

You can do some sled pulling, where you simply drag a sled with weights on it and it will reinforce your legs. There's a lot of things you can do.

Kriss E, you do realize when he said malnutrition and eat poutine, he wasn't being the slightest bit serious, you realize that right?

Didn't know it was a joke. You've been a member for 5years, I don't think I have to tell you how much crap gets posted here.
Then again, I'm hungover, so maybe that's why I missed it..

I just realized something. Our top young forwards are Pacioretty, Eller, Leblanc, and Kristo and every single one had pretty bad injuries this season.

I agree, and Eller is a strong, young kid.
I highly doubt it will take him the entire 6 months. I say he will be around the 4 month span.

I was just thinking this. I was wondering if the rest of you feel the exact same way as me.

I'm dreadful for the Canucks winning the cup. It wouldn't bother me that much if the Bruins won but the way the rest of the Montreal fanbase would react, would probably make it unbearable around here. The Bergeron injury really sucks in that they will lack depth vs the west.

I guess its time to put all hope on SJ and Tampa even though I think both are significant dogs.

Injury prone player.......I think it's like the 4th time he has problem with his shoulder. I remember scout were scared of his "shoulder of glass".

21 years and multiple problem with the same shoulder, I think we got ***** in the halak deal...

This guy has the heart of a lion. Playing through a bad shoulder with his style of play takes guts. The trade looks better and better to me.

Every player can be injured , it's part of the game. Difference is Halak didn't have any injurie history...Eller was a "risk player", PG took the chance with Eller and it looks like he lost his gamble.
