Filatov

Having the sense that Columbus needs to make a big push to make the play offs next year. What would it take to get Filatov out of Columbus. They maybe receptive to move him.

Selling low is generally a bad idea. If someone wants to overpay given his current market value, a trade might be available, but I suspect we're going to keep him.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

And if he is traded, it will probably be as part of a larger package.

Same thing is going on with the Rangers and MDZ. He has been bad this year for them like Filatov has been for the Jackets. I suspect both teams to keep them because their value is really low. The Habs tend to sell low. Well they have in the past . Just look at the Sergei Kostityn Trade. We got Dustin Boyd a career AHLer and Dan Ellis who is a back backup.

To clear something up, CSKA Moscow has made it known that they would like Filatov to come back and play for them, and are willing to offer a good amount of money to him.

However, Filatov has made it known that he wants to play in the NHL, that his play last year ('09-'10) in the KHL was not enjoyable, and that he feels comfortable with the Jackets organization.

I wouldn't consider trading Filatov for Leblanc or Hickey to be "selling low," but I still would rather trade him as part of a package or let him develop here.

He'll probably be a sweetener in a package deal over the summer if he's traded. Otherwise I think Howson will hang on to him.

If the Caps traded Semin, I wouldn't mind seeing him as a cheaper replacement. Maybe something like Perrault and a 2nd? I think i'm probably off on the value.

That's an interview/scouting report I did with him. I really hope the best for him and that he gets moved to a new team. A change of scenery will do him good and will likely spark that offensive flare that he possesses. Once he gets going, it will be hard for him to stop.

Well, the past two years have been spent in Springfield and Russia, so I suppose if Nikki actually produced enough to stick in Columbus it might count as a change of scenery.
