Idea: The Jackets might be interested in Redden

Over at their forum they are discussing this deal:

Ottawa: Klesla, 1st rounder

Columbus: Redden

What would you do? I'm not sure that's, why I'm asking you guys.

I doubt we could get Klesla and a 1st rounder, but if we could get Klesla alone, that would be great, IMO. I still believe he has the potential to be a big time defenseman in this league.

That being said, I don't believe Redden will be traded.

I would probably take that trade, a great up coming defenseman and a 1st rounder to boot, but having said that. It seems like a trade you would see on an EA sports game

I'd do that.

But I'd still rather see Chara go before Redden. I know hardly anyone thinks this way but I just like Redden more and think his game is more suited to our team.

Chara is such a beast, You probably won't find another player similiar to Chara for awhile in the NHL. It's hard to say whether or not "Zdeno Chara JR" (TB's 30th choice in 2005 draft) will pan out the same. Sure they have similiar statistics (height/weight/origin) but I doubt he will be the anomaly Chara is when he is developed. Which is why we should keep him for as long as possible.
