Looks official now. Posted on the Central Hockey Leagues website, Coach Brooks is heading to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (NCAA D3).

I don't follow D3 much but from what I hear thats an elite program. So they either enticed him with a great offer or he really truly knows something the rest of us don't know yet.

Here is some info on the other owner Sandy Vitale...or I mean...Hunnewell

http://www.prohockeynews.com/hockey/..._printer.shtml

Promised to keep the Blizzard in Muskegon and was committed to the area she claims, that didn't even last a year. Then the mess in Indiana. Maybe the MOST interesting part is the name change. Did she get a divorce(possible) or iss she trying to hide from the Blizzard ownership days?

Then she has a son who plays, just like DelBuono, neither are goo enough for AA by the looks of it:

Bill Vitale:http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=112143

D.J. DelBuono:http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=74588 He didn't play last year, apparently.

Apparently there is still some hope in QC to ice a team next season:

http://qctimes.com/sports/hockey/pro...cc4c002e0.html

Quote:
Former Mallards owner, president and general manager Howard Cornfield said he has spoken to one interested person or party and that i wireless Center general manager Scott Mullen has heard from another, while the Central Hockey League front office has unearthed still another potential Karls replacement.

I am not sure if there's anything in CHL league bylaws that allow or prohibit such a nickname.
I know of only two:

One team in the German Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen FC, but they are called that because Bayer (pharmaceutical company) founded the team 1904 and has owned them since.

Also in the Womens Professional Soccer league, the Washington Freedom were re-named magicJack because the founder of magicJack bought the team an decided it would be a great idea to name a women's soccer team magicJack ().

Other than that though, what other soccer teams were you thinking of?

On a side note with Global Entertainment. The GM of the company is from my hometown, Rick Kozuback. He used to coach in the BCHL, WHL, and in the old IHL with Phoenix.

Little clip from his time in Tri-Cities (he is the coach with the stick in the video)

Isn't there an MLS team named after Chivas Regal whiskey?

Are Dayton and Quad Cities both potential FHL sites? That would solve a number of problems for that league; it would bring in two cities with a fairly long history of minor-league hockey, and two good-sized facilities to offset the 600-seat "palaces" in the East.

The club you are talking about is Club Deportivo Chivas USA, or just Chivas USA. The club is owned by the guy that owns the Mexican Premier League Club Deportivo Guadalajara (hence the same colours and similar logo). Chivas is actually the nickname for CD Guadalajara and means goats in Spanish.

Not sure, it's gotta be close. The Ice Men won't even be the primary tenant anyway, it's mainly for the Evansville Purple Aces NCAA Basketball team.

Quad Cities is more of a potential USHL market(along with Bloomington) The FHL in Dayton could work but the problem is the arena they play in Hara(is a dump) and the other option(the Nutter Center)where the bombers played they weren't the primary tenant as that was for Wright State University

Actually hold the phones on Laredo for about 48 hours:

http://blogs.caller.com/rajan/archiv...-run-ends.html

Quote:
Laredo announced that it will stay in the CHL, and Terry Ruskowski is out as the Bucks' King/President/General Manager/Head Coach. Serge Dube is the Bucks' new coach.
Sounds good until:

Quote:
The future of Laredo Bucks hockey was put into the hands of the Laredo community Wednesday evening. Mr. Hart addressed several issues that face the organization at the meeting, one of which is the number of season tickets. Mr. Hart asked for all season ticket holders to renew their seats by 5pm of Friday May 20, 2011. Mr. Hart will look at the number of seats purchased for the upcoming season as a point of reference as to whether or not to continue.

Brian Sandalow of Rio Grande Valley has a more in-depth article:

http://killerbees.themonitor.com/201...wait-a-minute/

Quote:
“Our season ticket holders have been the Bucks MVP’s for nine seasons, and I believe they will once again prove that they are the best fans in the CHL” stated Glenn Hart. The Bucks also unveiled a new pricing and seating structure that is needed to ensure their future. Glenn Hart added, “Myself and my fellow co-owners are only asking for a fighting chance at a profit.”
A profit? It's AA Hockey, do you know how many of these franchises actually make a profit? it's a short list.

Ruskoski's statement:

Quote:
“At the end of the season Glenn and I discussed what would be best for the future of hockey in Laredo. While I did not want to leave, I felt that it would be best for the future of hockey in Laredo. I will always cherish my time in Laredo. But the time has come for me to pursue other opportunities” stated Coach Ruskowski
.

Not sure I underatand that. Ruskoski was pretty successful. Why mess with success? Something behind the scenes must have happened.

Serge Dube who has spent the last 9 years in Laredo as a player will take over.

Quote:
An additional issue was addressed Wednesday, when Glenn Hart stated that the Laredo Bucks will remain a member of the Central Hockey League. Other options were explored, but the best option was for the Bucks to stay in the CHL.
About that, I think you would have a better chance making a profit in the SPHL...

This comment was interesting at the end of the article:

Quote:
— Oh, Terry Ruskowski’s gone from the Bucks entirely and there’s a newfangled system of revenue sharing in the CHL. Just wait until you hear what that is.
Is this for real? Revenue sharing in minor league hockey?

Ahh more on that GLORIOUS revenue discussion:

http://www.themonitor.com/sports/pro...ees-bucks.html

Quote:
On Wednesday, Hart outlined a new luxury tax system, agreed to at the owners’ meetings late last month in Dallas, that is intended to aid at least five lower-revenue teams — likely one more if the Bees return — and help keep them financially viable while keeping them in the CHL. In short, the luxury tax payments made by the richer teams would be re-distributed to teams like the Bucks and the Bees. The thought is that would allow teams to play on a Single-A budget but stay in a Double-A league.
Who is that good for??? These teams will likely struggle to sign vets, just admit you've met your match. This doesn't sound good for any party involved.

The objective of the Luxury tax will be to supplement the budgets of those more economically disadvantaged teams. But for teams like Laredo, all that money isn't going to make them any closer geographically to rest of the league, and that's their biggest problem. The same applies to Rio Grande Valley and even more so for Arizona. I can't imagine what motivates Arizona's owners to commit to losing the type of money that they have to be losing year-in, year-out. Maybe they've picked-up some former Enron accountants.

The Killer Bees miss payroll, close office but stress they haven't folded:

http://killerbees.themonitor.com/201...-miss-payroll/

Probably the least informative article you've ever read but it probably also tells you the most info.

I personally believe they have folded. I mean they closed the office.

So this is the new salary cap luxury tax crap:

http://www.pro8news.com/sports/CHL-L...122207334.html

Quote:
The CHL will now run under new salary cap guidelines, which require teams to operate on two tiers. The first tier for small market teams would allow a max of $8,400 per week to play players. The second tier jumps up to $11,000. Bigger market teams wil now be required to share revenue with smaller ones.
I don't like this, nothing good could come of it....

Hey guys, I'm an Americans fan. I was wondering if there's any good twitter accounts to follow or any forums about whether or not the Americans will be in a different league?
