Gabby is better when someone else can do the dirty work for him. When he has to carry the puck, he often turns it over. His game is all about being quick, getting into prime scoring positions and using his shot. So I think he and Jagr would do well together.

Jagr did well with Nylander, who loved to hold onto the puck and circle back inside the blueline to make plays. He'd be fine with Richards too I think. And we know he can play with Dubi because he's done so before. Jagr would create more space for Artie to do his thing as well. I really don't see a downside to it, especially if we're only signing him for 1 year.

This reminds me of the pipe dreams some on here had of Leetch coming out of his semi-retirement and QBing our powerplay a few years back.

Seriously doubt it happens, and there are rumors already that Jagr is just putting the NHL stuff out there to get more money from a KHL team.

If the USA were to win the Gold Medal in the Olympics or World Championships or a future World Cup, how would we as USA hockeys fans react?

The Olympics I could see a big celebration.

WC and World Championships, probably not as much.

Derek Stepan, Rangers. Team USA coach Scott Gordon identified Stepan as one of the players he was most impressed with after the tournament was finished, comparing him to Boston’s Patrice Bergeron.

“I didn’t realize how good Derek Stepan was,” Gordon told Sporting News. “He was pretty impressive not just from a point standpoint but his hockey intelligence. He’s the whole package.” Stepan had seven points in seven games for Team USA.

Always felt he was more of a Pavelski.

I never see him being as physical or as good defensively as Pavelski.

Pavelski is 6 years older and defensive coverage and physical play at this level take some time to get down. In a couple of years I have no doubt that Stepan will greatly improve in those areas, especially if Tortorella is still around.

Speaking of Pavelski I'd love to get him some how. Sharks have a guy in the system Charlie Coyle, he's listed rw on here but in books i saw him listed as a center, but my point is Coyle is moving up the ranks fast, would/could San Jose move Pavelski to free up cap and replace him with Coyle?

I'm not really a Gordon fan, but that is a great compliment.

I'll take Coyle instead. Kid is going to be a keeper. Plays with an edge and has good size. Played with Kreider at the WJC as his center.

Bergeron is better defensively than Pavelski, fwiw.

And I think that's a really good comparison. I'd be thrilled with Stepan turning into a non-concussion version of PB.

as would i. when healthy, Bergeron is a hell of a player.
