Tynan is going to have a hard time finding work due to unfortunate remarks he made in October 2009.

Amirante just doesn't have it anymore. I say that with all due respect to the man and his legacy. His voice grates on my nerves because he can't hold a pitch anymore, and I literally get embarassed for him when he tries to hit the high notes. Let's get someone new in here so they can start to become part of the Garden atmosphere.

You don't replace him, you can only hope the next person is at least half as good as him.

What about ex-Skidrow singer Sebastian Bach?

Last I checked he's still doing Phantom of the Opera in NYC on Broadway. I'm sure he could squeeze in a few minutes before a Rangers game durring his off time.

As long as he doesnt jazz it up to much I'd be cool with that.

Amerante was the best for years but lately it's been as bad a Messier's last 2 years in Blue. You gotta know when to hold'em & when to fold'em.

Time to forgive and forget...guy made one foolish remark. I doubt he is a hateful person.

If we are going to allow Donte Stallworth back into football then punishing this guy any further would be a terrible injustice.

Really? Its so slow we have to debate if we should replace the anthem singer? Give me a break already. The guys been doing it forever. Let him have his thing. When was the last time a poor rendition of the anthem sucked the life out of the crowd? The man is part of our tradition. Let him go till he says he's had enough.

Amirante should be singing the anthem in our building until he himself no longer wants to.

Exactly. The hate for Amirante in this thread is so pathetic. The guy is the anthem singer of the Rangers. He is as much a part of this team as anyone. I can't imagine anyone else singing the anthem and will be sad when he no longer does.

Let him go as long as he wants, he's the voice of the Rangers.

All I know is when he sings it, he gets the crowd into the anthem like none other. Him singing the anthem in the playoffs with the crowd almost drowning him out at the end is amazing.

Would you like to see the Rangers go with a single anthem singer at every game or have them rotate like they have been doing on nights when Amirante can't attend/doesn't feel up to it?

Is this a reality show idea for MSG Network? I'd watch...
It's rare that as a CI viewer I actually get to see the anthem at MSG, it's usually only on the away teams telecasts that I see the anthem, but there was a game either at the end of the season or start of the PO's I saw him sing and he has lost a few steps, so to speak. He really rocked the Garden during the 94 run, he also seems to be having some other medical issues his hands really shake badly.

If anyone is going to replace him I say bring in Springsteen, after all he knew that the "Rangers had a homecoming"

I guess I just don't have an ear for singing talent like some do. Or I just don't care.

The guy still sounds fine to me. Even if he has lost something vocally, he's still incredibly passionate. And he's hardly "bad" by any realistic standard. The guy is part of Rangers history. He can step aside when he's damn well ready.

I don't care as much about quality as I do about tradition and nostalgia. Let Amirante go as long as he wants.

I appreciate all the history that comes with Amirante but someone else should step in. The guy has been doing it since the dawn of time and he can't hit all the notes too well.

It's weird that all the games in went to this season, it was someone else singing.

The back up (forget his name) who is pretty solid seemed to sing most of the games the past year. I think Amirante was sick at a point which was also a reason. Amirante was there for the big games though.

It wasn't one backup singer for the games I went to. They just brought in random people for each of the games. Maybe it's because I only went to games versus ****** teams.

Joe Micheletti is just NOT the same.

The only remotely suitable replacement I could think of for Sam is Gary Thorne.

Can't stand these new announcers who yell. Sam has a way of getting loud and excited while still sounding great and not sounding like he's screaming like a drunk college kid.

If Sam retires, I want Kenny Albert and no one else in the booth.

As for Amirante, no doubt his voice is going a bit. But I don't care, I want him singing the anthem for as long as he's willing to do it. As someone else mentioned, it's the nostalgia that I care about, not the actual singing. No one gets me more pumped up for a game than John.
