6'2" 223lbs....quite a bit bigger than previously listed, I likey.

Tinordi @ 6'7" in the pipeline as well...I really likey.

The days of opposing forwards having an easy time in our zone are going to be coming to an end big time.

I think his old height and weight were for when he was drafted, and so he grew in height, and put on some muscle.

Some things to watch for now:

- Will Emelin be at a summer prospect camp?

- If not, will Emelin come to Montreal earlier, like in August, to get used to the city, culture, etc? (we may never know on this one)

- Will Emelin have *some* knowledge of english come training camp?

- I am fairly sure MA Godin reported he had a wife and a kid back in January, will they come over with him?

These are all key factors. If he comes over here without any knowledge of english, his family stays in Russia and his adjustment to North American life takes time, it could not pan out on the ice.

I think Hamrlik will, Gill I'm not so sure. There is still a role for him, plus he is a good mentor for PK, as much off ice as on ice.

Good to hear finally. Who was that Montreal "reporter" who said Gauthier was sick and tired of dealing with Emelin a few weeks ago? Can we add them to the do not trust list?

Yeah the Habs should make an effort to get him here early and (hopefully) if they can sign Markov have him involved in getting him acclimated.

According to the KHL website he is now 6'1 and 222 lbs.

Most of the scouting websites are out of date and listed him
at 5'11 and 187lbs...

I am so frickin happy !!!!!!!!!!!

We have not had a good, mean defenseman in a long time !

I can't wait to see him snap and take off Marchand's head next season.

Then we can say "good hockey player, probably didn't realize it was him on the ice!"

Yeah I know that's a classless thing to say but I'm just excited to see Montreal finally have an emotionally physical player that teeters on the edge. Every other team has one.

I just understood it to mean there were a lot of complications dealing with Russian players, doesn't mean deals never get done...just a lot more work than Swiss or Swedes...

It was Arpon Basu and he was one who asked PG about it, but to be honest, Gauthier did seem sick and tired of the Emelin saga at the season ending PC.

Finally! bout time too!

Looking forward to seeing some more of him, from the little i've seen in international tournaments going back to the WJC's, he seems to be a cross of Danny Markov/Ruslan Salei with maybe a touch more offense. Although I never like to use comparisons...

He should give the Habs a nice shot in the arm for their defense...they needed to get younger, mobile and nastier and they accomplished that with this signing (seemingly).

Yemelin's deal in MTL is 1 year entry level (two way). NHL total compensation is $984,200 incl SB. Provision to play in KHL instead of AHL.

I'm not sure if there's room but I would really like to see Gill signed. He is a stabilizing veteran on what could prove to be a young defense corps (Subban, Weber, Emelin) and he elevates his game come playoff time. Git er done.

Hmm, if I am reading this right, that would mean no performance bonuses? That would be amazing if true.

Finally! Had a feeling it'd happen this week! Excited to have him on the team for next season!

This means Markov will probably be re-signed as well, so it's safe to assume our D will be

Markov-Emelin
Gill-Subban
Spacek-Gorges
Weber

to start the season.

If they were going to use of of my compilation they could have at least used the more recent version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyqWB3fLc_E&lc) instead of the one I made of last years playoffs and change the song (which admittedly was a very bad selection lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itnQ3rJ3S00). I knew I should have deleted the older version.
