More and more, it seems like Higgins will not go in game 1. He left practice half way through today, and missed the other skates along with Henrik, Sammy, Salo, and Bieksa. The Dmen did practice though.
He did the same thing in the preds series and still played
Reading the Sun and Province, I just don't get why the media is so obsessed with finding out who's injured with what and where. Do you guys realize that you're just digging up info for the other side and that nothing good can come out of finding out such stuff? What is this?

It's the obsessive compulsive desire we have to know who to blame and why. I didn't say it made sense, but it is what it is.
In the post-game Live Chat Tony Gallagher said he would be surprised to see Samuelsson back this season - speculates sports hernia surgery surgery.
That's very disheartening news. I'd take a healthy Samuelsson back in the lineup over a healthy Malhotra, especially with how well Lapierre is playing. And that's no knock on Malhotra. When he's on his game Samuelsson is an extremely dangerous forward, and our offense lacks pop right now.
It's not surprising. Samuelsson pushed his injury so long that when he did finally go out, it looked like his body literally just gave out on him.
Yeah, pretty much. It was evident near the end of the regular season that he was hurting bad, and with the up tempo pace of the playoffs, it just exacerbated the issue.
Samuelsson is done. Hasn't exercised once since injury. Some sort of core/groin issue.
Malhotra - I wouldn't go as far as Gillis and call it a miracle, but things have gone as well as could have been expected had you asked for an ideal outcome right after the first surgery. He'll play this pring unless the Canucks lose the SJ series in five games.

Your boldest call ever. HFF wrong on Willie last year. HFF right about Sundin, I suppose....eventually. This call will make you either 2-1 or 1-2 on some big time speculation/ insider info within the last 3 years.
I hope you're right. If Manny dressed for Game 1 or 5 of the SCF and came out in Rogers Arena with the air raid siren going and the towels in full swing....
I would lose it. Not to mention I think we'd see the best 60 minutes our boys would play in their lives.

Accurate on Burrows extension, Sedin captaincy. I also missed the boat on Gilroy signing.
The only odd thing to me is why not keep him around the team a la Malhotra? He may not be able to lace up skates for practice, but his presence/experience around the team could still be valuable, no?

If he's getting surgery soon that could be why. Might be back around the club after his surgery.
I'd rather have him over Hodgson who is so light on the puck, it's ridiculous. These are the playoffs. Good luck putting up points when you lose almost every puck battle and gt shoved off the puck, he needs to age, more strength and more time in the AHL. IMO.
I love Hodgson but I am not blind to how hes playing.
I would love to see him on the 4th line with Oreskovich and Tambellini
Assuming the Canucks win this round and Malhotra is back for game 1 of the next, which would you guys prefer -
Being helicoptered to GM place and rappelling down the side in full hockey gear to the main theme from Star Wars?
or
Having all the lights out in GM place and suddenly putting a spotlight on him stepping out on the ice with fireworks and ACDC's Back in Black blasting through the soundsystem?
