#Isles goaltender Al Montoya suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee at Worlds. He had successful surgery & will be 100% by training camp

Anyone on the NYI or Bridgeport should have a "bubble boy" clause in their contract, like in the fine print that even agents and lawyers miss, a really small font beside the giant font where the enormous salary goes.
When not playing or practicing with the team, you gotta stay in the bubble. Conjugal visits optional, subject to Wang's approval.
I guess we don't actually even need games or practices or even training camp to have guys get hurt now? Unbelievable.
It certainly serves a purpose to national hockey programs though. Say the olympics were next year, don't you think that JTs production in the WC would secure him a spot on the olympic team where he might otherwise be a bubble player?
Edit: hey look at that, the olympics are next year.

Unless JT is running the relay, the Winter Olympics are in 2014 in Russia...
I hate that stupid tournament, serves zero purpose and you only wind up with completely unnecessary injuries. .
i would love to play for my country. How many kids grow up thinking: i would love to play for the islanders? playing for the us is more special to most i think...
Rick DiPietro - Torn labrum in hip requiring surgery. Reinjured hip requiring more surgery. Torn meniscus in left (or right) knee requiring surgery. Torn meniscus in right knee requiring surgery. Follow-up surgery on knee and multiple swelling issues.
Kevin Poulin - Dislocated knee requiring surgery. Previous knee surgery.
Al Montoya - Torn Meniscus in knee requiring surgery.
Mikko Koskinen - Major hip surgery. Wrist surgery.
As far as my count goes...I think there's 4 concussions between the 4 goalies as well.
Not sure about the other countries, but it is an expectation that if they want to play in the Olympics for Canada that they need to answer the call when Hockey Canada asks them to play in the WC.
Likewise, for many of the players that played in the WJC as junior stars, it's expected that they repay the Hockey Canada program and show up for the WCs after they've "graduated" to the NHL.

Canada's ping pong hopes have rested with JT since he was 12 years old.

Our most durable netminder of the past few years was the 41 year old who's playing in the East Finals now. Go figure.
Also, I made a few calls and unfortunately, this injury does not count towards Montoya's "Islander initiation" so...oh crap.

Please. This aint the Olympics or some World Cup event. It's a tournament that 60% of the World's best players dont compete in and most in the US dont even notice.
