Player Nicknames - Lundqvist

I understand the premise of adding the 'y' to make your standard hockey nickname...i.e. 'Gravey'

However...a good friend of mine insists on using 'LUNDY' for Lundqvist.

It's nail on the chalkboard for me.

It's either Henrik, or Hank. 'Lundy' is not an option. 'Lundy' is the character from the 'Scream' series.

Anyone with me on this? Maybe it's a little OCD setting in, but 'Lundy' is not acceptable.

You can call him anything you want as long as you call him a Ranger.

I prefer HENKE.

Which was his nickname in Sweden before he came over to the US. And it's what we called him in his rookie season.

I say lundy or henrik....he isnt a king until he delivers a cup to ny so im skeptical on the king henrik stuff. My gf calls him lunqy pronounced lun-key..but she can say what she wants, she turns on rangers games on her own, its good for me lol.

I generally don't use any nicknames for players, especially the "ey" ending ones. Totally lacks any originality or effort. Besides, I don't know them well enough for nickname use. Just comes across as hokey and insincere.

Lundy, Henke, Hank, King Henrik... I use all interchangeably and don't see the big deal at all.

Hank or King because they are the shortest, and as I only talk about him on the interwebs, fewer key strokes means less chance of carpal tunnel syndrome.....

This. I couldn't care less what we call him though as long as he keeps playing like the King that he is.

Hank or the King.

Sometimes i'll say Henke if I want to look like a cultured fan.

But HENRY isn't his name nor one of his nicknames so the question then becomes, who are all these people chanting HENRY???
