Canuck71's 2011 Annual NHL Mock Draft: Drafting Thread

Draft Rules and Criteria

• The draft will consist of 7 rounds, Order of draft: Picks 1-14 are determined by the draft lottery choices; 15-30 is determined by which teams get knocked out of the playoffs quickest; Teams still playing will be assigned draft positions based on regular season point totals.
• Draft order and draft previous draft pick transactions will be referred to from this site: http://www.prosportstransactions.com...Years/2011.htm
• There is a 12 hour time-limit to make your pick, beginning immediately after the previous pick has been made. If no pick is made after the 12 hour limit, a consensus pick will be made by the GM’s.
• If you don't think you will be around to make your pick, send me a list of players in order that you would like to draft and I’ll make the selection for you.
• Please be committed to this draft or let me know if you're not going to be active so that I can find a new GM to fill the position.
After your pick has been made, please PM the next GM with the next pick so that they will be aware that its their turn to pick and will keep the draft moving along smoothly.
No Trading. Trying to keep this draft similar to the draft order that will be finalized by the middle of June.
• If you see anything at all wrong with the draft order, please PM me so I can fix it up or make a post in this thread.

Gotta say this is one pretty impressive group of posters from their respective teams.

This is going to be the best mock draft on these boards.

With Couturier gone and the Devils needing either a big time center or big time PMD, I think I have to go with the Kitchener Rangers star, Ryan Murphy.

This was a hard pick and I was thinking about it for about an hour or so. Was either going to be Huberdeau or Murphy here.

Fozz is on the clock and has been PM'd.

The Islanders are happy to select, from the Kitchener Rangers, forward Gabriel Landeskog.

The most NHL ready player in this draft and probably one of the hardest to play against.

PM sent to next GM.

****, i didnt even know we started.

damn... so close to lando.

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to select, from the St. John Sea Dogs, C Jonathan Huberdeau.

BPA on our list, so much top end potential. Will make a good 1-2 punch with spezza and being sheltered behind a center like jason will allow him to develop properly. Could make the team next year depending on his offseason, though he may start of on the wing.

next gm (Brock/Atlanta-Winnipeg) pm'd.

I was going to take Huberdeau, but I just don't see him as a center at the next level.

With the ninth selection of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft the Boston Bruins are pleased to select from the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Nathan Beaulieu.

Pierre McGuire comment: Great pick, they fill a need.

Considering that those 12 hours are overnight on a Friday and that the draft started rather quickly, I think we can give a little bit more time.

Eh, I'm certainly not going to be the deciding factor, but if he hasn't been active for a few days, it might be best to just make the selection and continue pushing forward. In a couple hours, we'll be approaching a full day.

How in the world has Strome slid this far? No way he goes outside of the top ten. HELL he could be the best player in this crap draft.
