Some Canes fans have told me he is expendable based on the progression of Dalpe, and the play of Sutter, Skinner, and Staal

I wouldn't say he's expendable, but if we were to deal him it would probably be for an NHL defenseman of some sort.

I should have clarified. A Top 4 NHL defenseman.

well if ottawa drafts Huberdeau, coutureir, or strome , which i believe they should get 1 of them , then they wont need boychuck but if there were to trade for him i would say ether weircioch or 1st round pick(21) for him , but i would rather ottawa get a center thats at least 6.01 like dalpe, so mabe we trade for dalpe instead

Dalpe has a lot more value to the Canes, and Boychuck is ready to step into an NHL role, and can play LW.

Ottawa has one top 6 LWer.

I actually think that it is a great trade to explore.

I doubt you can get a legitimate top 4 defenceman for him unless you work with a team like Vancouver.

Otherwise, you may have to settle for top 4 potential.

I think something around Wiercioch would be good starting point. Obviously Sens need to add something, but I can't figure what Carolina would want with him.
