I think he'll draw interest from bottom-tier teams like the Islanders or the Panthers... there's no way a contender in their right mind will willingly give him $2M after his sub-par performance in Philadelphia this year.
Now, it's a matter of him wanting to sign and play for a non-contender. I don't really see him going either way... he could agree and stay in the NHL, or just go to the KHL.
If I had to pick.. I'd say he'll end up on the Islanders... he's just a poor man's Semin.
I would love to see Zherdev back on the Flyers. He was one of our best players in the Boston series. If he could come back play like that for cheap Id be happy

Subpar? Did you watch him or are you judging by his stats? When he did get time, he played well. He was one of the best Flyers in the playoffs as well. It's not realistic that he'll be with the Flyers again, but I can guarantee you he'll get interest from the rest of the NHL. As far as I'm concerned, his play in the playoffs disproved the whole "he has no heart/motivation/drive" theory.
One thing I've noticed that no one has ever, he plays better if its bigger ice, doesn't matter who hes playing with, just needs to play on bigger ice and I say he'd get 90 point career high, hes good but it matters how big the ice is.

By sub-par, I mean below the expectations of what the Flyers organization expects from each and everyone of their players -- heart, character, motivation, and the drive to win. While, yes, he played well in the playoffs, what he did on and off the ice in the regular season should scare away any possible suitors.
Zherdev showed that he couldn't care less about winning, and he was benched for 10+ games at a time. Certainly no true hockey team that has an actual shot at the Cup would want to take that on.
I can't see a team offering much more than 1.5 million for him. He is just too much of a wild card. I think if he played on a bottom feeding team he would be less motivated and would be pretty much useless. I think he actually played quite well overall on Philly this year, and I think that was in large part due to the fact that Philly was considered a legitmate favorite for the Cup. He was playing with a bunch of winners and he had to play a certain way to get ice time. I think if he played for a team like the Isles or Panthers, over the course of a year it would wear him down and he would return to his lazy ways.
It's frustrating to watch Z sometimes. He has all the talent in the world and the physical tools to make it happen, but he just doesn't have the compete level (eugh, I hate using that term). Maybe he just needs proper motivation, but right now, it's the only thing keeping him from being a game breaker.
I actually wouldn't mind him back in Philly for 1,5-2. He was a pretty solid producer in very limited icetime and in the playoffs he stepped it up a notch and even hit people.

Yeah, it was enough to make me hopeful, but I'm leery. He was probably playing for a new contract.
And let's face it – no one wants a poor man's Semin
Is there even such a thing as artificial inzherdevation?
