raymond + schnieder + ballard for zack parise RIGHTS
So basically, a young 20+ goal scorer, top goalie prospect + Salary dump for a CHANCE for zack parise?.
Yeah, it's more than a chance at Parise. Don't try to undersell it like that. If you actually believe that you only have a "CHANCE" at signing him, than you would be foolish to give up that much.
I'm pretty sure thats the reaction for ever single Devils fan.
Spot on.

Some Devils fans will say yes. I personally say no. Not a bad offer though.

It's his RFA rights. Completely different than UFA. God help the first person who tries to bring up Bouwmeester.
Plus, if we're giving you Zach Parise, we're not taking a salary dump. Sorry. Also, we're not taking your expendable pieces for a top 3 or 5 winger in the league. It's going to cost you Edler+ or Kesler. We know how that's going to end. Hint: not well.
We'll keep that CHANCE, bro. And we'll get him signed.

That means nothing to the Devils unless you add a new stipulation to hypothesized proposal--one which assumes that Parise doesn't want to sign in NJ and demands a trade. Considering that it is very likely that the Devils sign Parise, they would demand a package that at least equally compensates the loss of Parise from their team. So a proposal for Parise would have to include an equal package to the utility of Parise's services to the Devils. Raymond+Schnieder+Ballard does not equate to the utility of Parise to the Devils.
Ballard for the rights to Weber, i saw someone post. That isn't crazy. If Weber signs, all is well. If he doesn't you have some cap space to get people your coach will play.

I know that there are tons of good Canuck fans, but it' offers like this that just make me

You know that the other team actually has to agree to a trade right? Anything less then Kesler wouldn't be worth it from Nashville's perspective.
Can't wait until June and all these Weber proposals will be done for... what's that Suter is still going to be a UFA next year, well que up the Suter going to Detroit proposals..
Cap hit isn't the issue it's the structuring. If the contract is very top heavy, 10-12mil the first couple of years, Nashville may not be able to match it based on their own personal salary cap.
No. No! No no no. Bad hockey fan. No puck drop for you.
1) Nashville just picked up a whole heck of a lot of playoff revenue. Short term is not an issue.
2) He's their SUPERSTAR CAPTAIN. He sells tickets over there. He'd pay for himself.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

Weber isn't a UFA. He's an RFA. An unsigned Weber is worth 100x more than Ballard.

I counter with:
Kesler for the rights to Joel Ward.
See, I did what you just did, but not even as bad as you did it.
By the way, I see a lot of complaining from Vancouver fans over on the playoff board about what they see as unnecessary or unfair hatred towards their team and fanbase.

I like your sarcasm, wish others would see that too.

Parise would make any team better imo. But The Nucks seem to have a very well well built team as is and Kessler and Burrows bring some of that same style of game...
Who's giving over paying for Parise until he proves he's can be 100% ?

I think this is the exhibit A he was talking about.

ughhh . The Devils have enough room to sign Parise and then some...
I was only halfway referring to the original poster's statements. When you see things like, "a signed Keith Ballard for Shea Weber's rights," you can't help but feel your blood start to boil.
Lol I'm sorry but this proposal is ridiculous...the old "we'll trade you three okay players for one super star thread". Next.
Oh and there is no way Nashville doesn't match a 6.5 million dollar offer sheet for Weber. And there are numerous teams who would top that if they didn't so keep dreaming I guess...
