I think Yandle is a great player but after his playoff performance I don't think I would want to add Smith into the deal. I would be comfortable doing Fil/Kindl/1st. Not sure if this would be enough for Phoenix though.
What would phoenix want, he's a RFA next season, uncertain ownership etc...
Edit: I meant Yandle but ive broken my finger so its a typo.
If this is the best offer that Phoenix will get for Yandle, he will be re-signed and be playing in AZ next season... The Coyotes do not and will not dump any top player regardless of salary constrains.
That's not nearly enough. You can look in the Yandle + 20 for Seguin +9 trade thread to see the precise scenario in which Yandle might be put on the trade block, and every single Yotes fan will tell you they're hoping against hope that scenario doesn't happen, but it is a distinct possibility.
We've talked about Yandle/Visentin for Seguin/Rask or Yandle/20th for Seguin/9th, as far as Boston goes and even if those aren't quite there, they're pretty close. The Yotes would prefer to move him to the Eastern Conference obviously, so the Wings would have to not only match, but beat an offer from an Eastern team (or be assured that Detroit is moving to the East next year). You'll have to put up a lot better quality pieces or look elsewhere.
Isn't Yandle Phoenix's best skater? He'd be one to keep while giving up others for salary relief.
yes. He's easily our best player outside of Bryz. Yandle had 59pts, one less than our leading scorer Shane Doan. Yandle is already wearing a letter and was being groomed for the captaincy. His defensive game, by the way is improving every season just as his offense has. He's a hard nosed player, with an unknown amount of skill, and our most important player other than Bryz.
