I honestly cannot take much more of Simpson. The Canucks scored to go to the finals last night and all he can muster is a dejected "I think that hit the mesh." He's obviously choked about the Canucks success. The network should do something about ex-players being unable to get over past allegiances.

Bias aside he's just a rotten analyst. Gets something in his head and won't see anything else.
It's Simpson and quit complaining. I've re-watched the play many times and you're really just finding things to ***** about. Simpson is fine. He did not sound dejected, he sounded confused. He wasn't half as bad as the Versus crew. The only reason half you guys thing he is so anti-Canuck is because he is with Hughson who is so pro-Canucks.

Didn't really mind Simpson's call on that goal, it was obvious he was very confused and likely thought it hit the mesh because of all the players pointing up. And as spixel said, compared to the Versus guys he could even be called pro-Canuck.

I mean technically in '94 there was some form of internet, but I don't think there was anybody clamouring to post on a hockey forum when Greg Adams scored... well... except maybe Wetcoaster
Our family opted for a home computer early on:

Seriously - in 1994 we were using modems to log on to discussion forums that were often done via private subscription services such as GEnie (General Electric Network for Information Exchange) with forums RoundTables (RTs), and Compuserve - I subscribed to both. We had high-speed 1200 bits per second and for a premium some services offered 2400 bit/s. When 56Kbps became available it was breathtaking. GEnie was more slanted towards the technology crowd while Compuserve was more business and consumer oriented and pioneered thousands of broadbased discussion forums with moderators.

By 1994 I was one of the early adopters of remote access so that I could log onto my office computer from home via modem. Because of the international nature of my law practise this was a huge step forward. Mind you in those days operating a network (I was running Lantastic a peer to peer DOS based proprietary network at my law firm), getting a modem to actually work and logging on remotely was more like black magic. Nothing like today.

I just love the 10s or so pause after they say "it's in the net"... and then complaining about the reporters, confetti, etc. before getting back to hockey.

You should have heard Milbury *****ing about the "bad" icing call. He was livid that the linesmen missed the call.

Don't go down 3-1 and into Double OT if you don't want to risk your season coming down to a bad bounce.

Nice. I thought that was a hell of a thing to do in '94, and oftentimes wished we'd gone to see one of them.

Would we have to pay a ridiculous price to get in?

I'm presuming it's going to be free or by donation. Might have to reserve seats for free on Ticketmaster, just like for open practices.

Beers will still cost $8, I think.

Guesses were $10 for last round, although it never ended up happening, with the money going to CFK fund.

I still don't see how they did or said anything wrong. Until they got the feed from the back I'm pretty sure most people thought it went out of play. Can you imagine having all that stuff happen and the goal have been legitimately disallowed? I don't see anything wrong with pointing that out. That being said... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo

I just realized we're going to the SCF on the backs of the same foes the ChiHawks defeated in 2010. Orders switched around a bit, and obviously it took us one extra game to eliminate the Hawks and the Sharks, but still cool. Good karma? Who knows!

Listen to Shorthouse or even Hughson, that's how you call a game. These guys just sound like a bunch of stunned fans that can't believe their team lost.

Shorty's call is on TSN.ca, just watch the "Road to the Cup" video in the sidebar about 2:30 into it (page 1). Shorthouse was unbelievable, he saw it all the way unlike everybody else.
