Point of order - the Kings didn't "start the Ontario Reign". The franchise was part-owned by Kemp (the former owner of the IHL/WCHL/ECHL Long Beach Ice Dogs), and moved from Beaumont to Ontario. AEG (the ownership of the LA Kings) didn't purchase the franchise from Kemp until after it the Reign had started.
That said, once they purchased the majority of the Reign, I too was wondering when AEG would dispose of their half-ownership of Reading, especially as they are also in the arena-management business, and it couldn't have been too comfortable being uneasy partners with co-owners SMG, who are their arena-management competitors.
