You cannot use a kicking motion to put the puck in the net, but there is no rule against using a kicking motion to put the goalie in the net apparently.

I don't know.. It's a bad replay, but did the puck end up in the back of the net?

To me, it looks like the Houston player poked it in just before the goalie could get his glove on it. He ended up crashing in him, but if the puck is in before that, it's not a problem.

Not even half of it. They closed their hand on the puck in the crease in the dying seconds.

The clock also magically went from 2.3 seconds to 0.3 seconds.

The puck went in to the net after the Houston player interfered with the goalie (he wasnt touched, jjust 'lost his balance' in the blue ice (more apt to be a penalty than a goal)

What's even more ********, is the final play... Where a Houston defenceman touched the puck on thew blue ice (penalty shot) that was uncalled... 3 seconds left in the game.

The Dogs were screwjobbed. If the AHL watches the replay, they should be embarrassed about the outcome, and how they allowed a team that has played 100 games in to the year, to go home on such a poor call like that.

exactly, guess they didn't want 2 Canadian Clubs prospects in the final. lol

seriously, Hamilton was robbed by the officials in this game on multiple occasions.

Still I am proud of the kids for coming back down 3 games to none. Lots of heart down there in Hamilton.

If this was the case..... stick knocks the puck in, then contact with the goalie....... it should be a good goal.

But, I have to believe Derek Wills would be honest enough to admit that if that was the case. The play by play guys had a much better replay than we do and they said the player knocked goalie/ puck/ everything into the net at the same time.

Unless the rules are different in the AHL. you can't knock the goalie/puck/everything into the net at the same time and it be a good goal. Not in the NHL anyway.

Here's a little example of the amateur CHL league(s) effectively using replay. The ref in question goes to replay just to confirm his call.

How sad that the AHL doesn't have it. I thought this league was preparing players, officials for the NHL
