That's even uglier than the current length of his contract.

Bolland's is the only contract that Campbell's would affect. Toews/Kane end the year before Campbell, Seabs the same year as Campbell.

Would we buy out Campbell's contract the same year that Kane/Toews are up for new contracts? Absolutely, that's only 2 years of 2,380,000 of his contract instead of one year at 7,100,000.

There's no way we buy out his contract right now though, or even in the next few years.

OK, not Seabs, forgot he just signed this off season.

If we are tight against the cap, and Toews and Kane are gettign raises..how do you expect to fit those raises in? Especially if Morin, Smith, Bickell, and Frolik start to really improve their game?

I'm not saying they will buy him out, I just said that he will probably be bought out before being traded, because there isn't going to be a team that will trade for him.

I'm hopeful, but I highly doubt Campbell gets moved.

You'd think if Bowman was able to move him and that contract it would have been last year.

I just don't see a team willing to trade for him. And none of these sources are legit so I don't see it happening.

How much of a raise do you realistically think Toews/Kane will get? They are both already making 6+.

That all depends on quite a few factors like how much the salary cap changes, and what's available that year.

Let's take Brad Richards for example. He can easily get 7.5-8mil on the open market this year. I fully expect Toews and Kane to only get better in the next 4 years, and could demand contracts close to 8mil, each.

5 years from now the cap will probably be significantly higher than it is now.

LOL, people are worrying about fitting all these guys under 5 years from now?

People worried about having enough space to sign guys that still haven't proven anything on the NHL level? Man o man, what are you guys like at parties?

I'm not sure we even need to trade Campbell to sign Sharp.

Hockey Break had the rumor first, and I don't think it was something they found on these boards. Campbell is shopped around every summer, this is nothing new.

If that's trading for #25 and #39, then so be it. It would take nothing short of a miracle for us not to have an allstar team in a few years after having 8 2nd rounders in 2 seasons.

huberdeau will go in the top 4, if not higher. He's playing himself into the top 3 right now. I've been working at the memorial cup and was in the NHL lounge and overheard numerous scouts from different teams talk about how they would take huberdeau 1 through 3.

I think the only team that would take him and he would allow a trade to is Montreal. I personally don't want them to trade Campbell. Yes, he is overpaid, but he is an important piece to the Hawks defense. If anybody should go, it should be Hjalmarsson. He could actually bring some return.

I don't doubt that. If I had the #1 Huberdeau is who I would go with. Not that I know jack compared to you Canadiens that actually get to see these games live

You are typing before you are reading.

Campbell will certainly be easily tradeable when there is two years left on his contract.

I agree. At least not to TO. I can't see BB being interested, since one of his priorities was getting rid of Kaberle and Soupy is of the same mould. Sabres? Hard to say.
