I thought hockey players were superstitious?

I would have taken ten bucks less.

Spoooooooky... talking about 666 and superstitions in my 1134th post.

That spells hell upside down and backwards.

Well, good for Anthony. He had to produce this year to get a contract, and he stepped up. Going to be tough for him to make the AHL next year, though.

I hear the Leafs are only two key pieces away from it all.. perhaps they'd part with Schenn.

Cool. Will be interesting to see where he lands to start next season. Hopefully he'll manage to land himself an AHL job, as a guy with that blend of size/skill would probably be a good fit alongside some of our smaller skill guys. If he can continue to develop as a physical presence, i'd be interested in seeing him alongside a guy like Schroeder at some point. But that could be down the road a ways, depending on how he makes the transition to the pro game.

Can the signing of Erica Ehm be far behind?

Scratch you off the list of possible "young guys" on the board.

I think he is going to slay it in the AHL next year; I think he'll make it for sure.

With Steve Anthony signed who's going to do all those "A" Channel promo voice overs?

He really covered his bases. I guess we know what kind of "character" Gillis looks for now.

I dunno about that... The kid has a big frame at 6'2, and isn't light at 190lbs. That alone may be his ticket to MAKE the team, even as a 4th liner. Will he have problems getting offensive production? Certainly. But I think Anthony is a player that will make the NHL one day as more than just a 4th line plug. He was once touted as a highly regarded prospect back before his draft year, then he dropped significantly due to off ice issues (which led to a lack of production). He seems to be playing pretty good now though, so maybe that's all behind him.

He couldn't even crack a PPG as a 20 year old in the Q, while playing for the league's best team. I would be shocked if he ever plays in the NHL.

Just an aside, but isn't that Anton Levay in your avatar?

Ya, you're probably right... There aren't any effective NHL'ers these days that bloomed late and weren't effective in Juniors.
