You're not even spelling the first part right.

This isn't Martin Straka.

His name is Karlis Skrastins, and it's pronounced exactly how it's spelled. Shouldn't be too difficult for you.

Strak-ka-nish-shi?

IF you want to pronounce it the Slovan way, here it is

Ka (like cut) rlis (like Liz but with an S on the end)
Skra (like scratch but the A read as a u) stins (tough to explain).

Its tough to explan really if you want to read it the 100% correct way, Only Slovans can do that (for now).

If Slovak, its read:

Karlis Skrastinš (š = sh)

Yeah, Skrastins doesn't have the h on his name that Ozolinsh had added to his, but in Latvian it ends on a sh sound.

In North America it seems about half the time it gets pronounced Skrastins and half like Skrastinsh.

Skrastins or Skrastinsh. Nothing too confusing there, just pick one.

Trying to pronounce Skrastins really gives you a hard time?

I feel bad for you if you're serious, ma'am.

I thought PapaBear wasn't an Avs fan anymore. Apparently he's still recovering from breaking both legs.

That should do it for our linguistic excursions I'd say.
