Ryan Ellis

Just named the best defenseman and player in the CHL. Preds are loaded with Offensive D in the NHL and system. His value may never be higher than it is now. What could we get for him?

Needs: Early picks this year, Young scoring forwards, scorers, people who can score, snipers, scorers

Honestly, with a guy like Ellis, I think his value would really jump if he proves he can handle pro calibur players. His biggest question mark is size and as a result, I don't think his value around the league would be as high as it maybe should be.

For example, as a Nux fan, I'd rather have Bogo than Ellis right now just because of size...if Ellis can show that he can handle big players with the speed and skills NHLers have, you will have an amazing defenseman, if not, he is basically worthless.

The part of me that is a Preds fan says hell yes please thank you.

That said, NJ would have to be crazy, desperate, or both to make that trade.

Chris Kreider
Dale Weise
2nd

for

Ellis
3rd

I'd be hesitant as a Ranger fan but would probably pull the trigger

From what NJ fans tell me they need a PPQB and a 4th liner. Goalie of the future would be nice too. I would give up Colin Wilson to get Parise for the Preds

Ellis (PPQB with a holizer for shot)
Lindback (Huge goalie, younger than Rinne)
Dumont (If willing to waive his clause, 4th liner.)
Wilson (C/W prospect stud)

For

Parise and a low pick.

Then Nashville can sign Dekanich as the backup, their goalie and defensemen jam ups are cleared and there is cash for signing Parise.

NJ gets everything they need, PPQB, Goalie, 4th liner who's only on one year, and a prospect who gives value to the trade.

Would you accept a similar package for Shea Weber?

(If so, please remain where you are so I can drive over and stage an intervention. )

Ryan Ellis, who MANY believe is the next coming of MA Bergeron.
Anders Lindback, who did have a good stint in net when Rinne went down, but still not proven.
Colin Wilson, good prospect that doesn't seem to be fitting into Nashville's system.
Dumont, CAP DUMPPPPPPPPP?

Thats like Toronto offering

Jesse Blacker
James Reimer
Nazem Kadri
Mike Komisarek

I'd do that trade in a second.

i wouldnt do that, and i understand that Parise is worth much, MUCH more than that package but it would create multiple holes on our team. Our team plays terrible without Reimer in net. Reimer is the reason why we were one of the best teams after the all-star break. Losing Blacker and Komisarek would deplete some of our Defensive depth.

Leafs + Parise - Reimer = a poor man's Flyers .....

I hope you realize we have two goalies in the system that come more acclaimed then Reimer ever was. That's a possible solution. If not, I think gaining a good goalie in a saturated goalie market that values goalie very low at the moment (elliot for anderson, roloson for wishart, montoya for 7th) that picking up a SNIPER that is a proven 40 goal scorer and PPG player is MUCH more valuable.

I also laugh at "Black and Komisarek depleting some of our defensive depth." Sure, it sucks to loose Blacker, althought how many NHL games does he have under his belt? How many PRO games (AHL???) does he have under his belt? Komisarek is easily addition by subtraction.

Yeah, we aren't getting Parise unless Suter is involved. No way NJ does that.

I'd rather hold on to Thomas. He had an unbelievable season in Juniors and has a solid chance at cracking the lineup this September

I agree but I think something like Kreider and Weise could get it done. I think Kreider is going to be a GREAT player, but I just think Thomas has a better chance at being the goal scorer we desprately need.

Thomas + 15th overall is an overpayment for Ellis IMO.
