Sharks - Atlanta or possibly WPG

Jets will have money to burn and will want a proper top line to cheer for,

Heatley for Byfuglien

Heatley has put of decent numbers in SJ but just doesn't fit well IMHO
and being a little over paid the Jets could afford this with their current low cap

Good. I can be the first person to laugh at you for this.

Why does the Thrashers/Jets do this? Byfuglien is more valuable as a defenseman, to which he had a career year last year.

You could make it Sharks 2011 1st +Dany ( Team Cancer) Heatley and I still don't think its fair.

This is going to get locked for saying Jets instead of Thrashers.

ATLANTA says no to this offer, IMO.

Who is to say they even name their team the Jets? The Jets are part of the Coyotes franchise.

I wouldn't do that from the ATL / WPG point of view.

As a prospective "Jets" fan, I would not be for this trade.

In fact, I fail to see how it addresses a need for either team.

What a horrid unthought out proposal.

SJS trades their least valuable 7 million dollar player, for what is probably one of Atl's most valuable players on the team side from Enstrom

Pfft. When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way.

a) Jets don't do this because they don't want to move Byfuglien, as the Enstrom-Byfuglien pairing was money.
b) Thrashers don't do this because bringing back Heatley is the one way to not make anyone go to the games ever again.

I thought the way to not make anyone go to a hockey game is if you put it in Atlanta. lol jk

But seriously, Atlantapeg says no thanks.

Even if both sides agreed to this deal, there is absolutely no way that Heatley is waiving to go to Winnipeg. Seriously, this is Dany Heatley we're talking about.

You lucky SOB!

Seriously wtf is the OP thinking. Buff just signed a 5 year extension and is going to be moving closer to home. And you think he'll get traded?!?! Oh good grief.

NEVER HAPPENS from a Thrashers perspective.

Big BUFF will be like a ROCKSTAR to the Winnipeg fans and Heatley would not waive to play in Winnipeg.

Heatley is just over payed and and his numbers will continue to go down over the next few seasons. DO NOT WANT HIM.

The last thing you want to do is put Heatley on a team that isn't guaranteed a Cup win in the near future

Atlantapeg laughs and hangs up. I'd love Byfuglien but it will NEVER happen. No way we get him. Sorry.

I will pack Heatley's bags and drive him to Winnipeg myself for Big Buff. Value is way off here.

And even if Wilson managed to get this deal done, no way will Dany waive his NTC for Winnipeg.

Did you make this thread just so you could call them the Jets? Because that's kind of what it looks like.

I disagree. If he gets taken off the 1st line again, he will surely ask for a trade.

Yeah, maybe he asks for a trade, but he refused to be dealt to Edmonton. What makes you think that Winnipeg is a more desirable location?

You know Winnipeg can hit -50? There are no major cities surrounding Winnipeg, and Heatley is from (by that I mean grew up in) Alberta.

No chance in hell he accepts a trade to Winnipeg.

If Wilson could pull off this trade half the sharks board would drive to DW's house to give him hugs, flowers, chocolate, whatever.
