I completely agree that Tim Thomas is a cool guy. When I listened to him talking in the all-star game, all miked up, he had a great sense of humour. You can tell a lot about a person from that.

I would really like to see Thomas get a Cup, much more than Luongo.

Thomas is the definition of a class act. He's just so humble and a great inspiration to a lot of people.

I don't understand the hate for Vancouver. I'd much rather have Vancouver win than Boston.

I like Vancouver as a team but the more I talk to their fans the more I begin to dislike them (Vancouver as a team).

I think he looks fantastic. He is a year younger then MDZ, he is the same size as Brian Boyle, he have played over 100 games this season, he is a D -- I think his play in the PO's was pretty darn impressive.

How many years did you play with him at SLU, Fitzy?
3 years. He was one season my senior. I also had the privilege to play with great players like John Zeiler, T.J. Trevelyan, Drew Bagnall, Mike McKenna, and numerous others.

He has been great to watch because you can tell just how much he wants it. He is almost trying too hard, trying to make too good of a play and sometimes gives it away.

I always get amused at how his temper hasn't changed, though. Very rarely if ever does he get drawn into a shoving match in front. He takes the shot, turns around, and skates off.

Still can't help but dislike Boston, even though Tim Thomas seems like a great guy. Jack Edwards just does it in for me.

Oh my god Jack Edwards. He has to be my least favorite person left that's involved in these playoffs.

Horton shouldn't even have been playing after that water bottle bs in Tampa in game 6. Love how he gets a fine but Torts gets suspended. Bias much?

But it's alright for the Tampa Fans to throw noisemakers at the Bruins players?

Go Van.

Boston. That city has enough championships in the last decade.

Players are, and should be, held to a higher standard than fans (even still, fans that were caught should've been punished).

However, when you consider the precedence for throwing objects at fans (Torts suspended for 1 playoff game in 2008-2009), Horton absolutely should've been suspended.

But, then again, when Torts was suspended, Colin Campbell's kid was chasing a Cup on the team in question!

Looks like the end is drawing near in the Winnipeg - Atlanta saga...

WPG lawyers signed off on their end. ATL lawyers doing their due diligence now. Soon as they sign off, deal is done, pending board approval.

Well, I don't really care who wins the Cup this year, I'm OK w/ both teams. Canucks = Canadian team (even if you guys hate to hear it, it's a canadian game )
Bruins = original 6, great tradition

but what matters most to me: after Uwe Krupp, FINALLY another German will touch Lord Stanley's Cup....

11 am Central time announcement. Now official. Pending NHL B of G approval, Thrashers moving to Winnipeg.

Team will play out of the Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference for one year before NHL realignment kicks in.

Do not believe any firm decision has been made on the name of the team but ownership appears to prefer moving away from the name Jets.

Got home from Berlin last night.
Canadian embassy had Canucks flag up, which made me giggle while sitting in Starbucks.

Go Nucks.

Sucks they have to stay in the Southeast for a year. That's a lot of time away from home. Although being that home is Winnipeg, maybe that's a good thing. LOL.

Travel is going to suck so bad for that team...

41 "home" games...
10 games in the Atlantic Area
10 in the Northeast
12 in the Southeast

They're going to have to be in Tampa Bay one night, then head back to Winnipeg to play us, then back out to Carolina to play the Hurricanes....

Yikes.

I don't understand why it's so hard to realign the teams during the off-season.

Ok Winnipeg you're in the Central, Nashville take the vacant spot in the Southeast...boom, finished.

All that travel will wear them down and possibly give us a bigger chance to win the games against 'em. I hope so. We blew against ATL.

so apparently i don't know my geography and had no clue where winnipeg actually is. with all the talk about them playing in the northwest division and the terrible travel for them next year playing in the SE, I had it in my brain that it was way out west by vancouver...

then today reading about the press conference that they are only an hour behind ny and checked a map to discover that they are actually north of minnesota LOL
