He did.

I know when Leblanc made the move to the Juniors and signed his contract with the Habs, he said the team didn't push him towards making the decision to sign, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Habs ask Kristo to consider making the move to pro.

That's two thirds of the Bulldogs' first line.
Incidentally, and pending other veteran signings, that probably means more ice time for Habs prospects next season.
This would all but guarantee that Leblanc plays with the Dogs for 2011-2012.

So, aside from any free agent signings, who will be playing for the Bulldogs next year?

Russell-Leblanc-Palushaj
Dumont-Engqvist-Avtsin
Conboy-Nattinen-Quailer?
Bishop-Fortier-Schultz
Bonneau

Nash-Diaz
Henry-Stejskal
St. Denis-Klubertanz
Bennett?

MacIntyre
Mayer

I don't know much about who might be staying/coming in, so would like to hear ideas from others that know more than I, especially on the idea that some of our NCAA guys (Quailer, Bennett, maybe even Kristo) might sign? What about some of the other Euros, like Trunev?

The last Dog to have signed a KHL contract before these two (Brock Trotter) signed for 2 years for a $250K cap hit. Then again, Dinamo Riga is not known to throw monster contracts at import players; the best-paid player on DR (Ozolinsh) has a $840K cap hit.

And how much is a monster contract, $500K?

Bennett and Quailer should be back in the NCAA next year, Kristo says he's returning to North Dakota next year. Trunev is under contract in the KHL for next season so it seems unlikely he will come over.

Sanford, MacIntyre and Wyman are UFA's.

Russell, Carle, St-Denis, Klubertanz, are RFA's.

Leblanc, Lefebvre, Berger, Diaz, and Nättinen are incoming, that could be it as far as our drafted prospects go.

That leaves Dumont, Engqvist, Conboy, Avtsin, Palushaj, Schultz, Masse, Bishop, Fortier, Nash, Mayer, Henry, Stejskal.

Bonneau, Delmas, Bisaillon, Petruic, Urquhart and Zannette were signed to AHL contracts, so who knows who will be brought back and who won't. My guess would be that Delmas, and Zannette get NHL contracts from the Habs, and that Petruic is brought back.

I don't get why so many people blame the organization for the fact that there were "too many veterans" playing with the Dogs. 4 of Hamilton's best players were promoted to the NHL during the season, Gauthier had to find a way to replace them if he wanted the team to stay competitve.

About the veterans
AHL team can carry 7 players with veteran status (Goaltenders doesn't count). PG had good intentions because the Dogs started the season with only one vetran (Henry) and they also had Sanford in net.

Boyd : He was suppose to be a NHL player. Didn't worked out, was waived a couple times, no one wanted him. The only solution was to assign him to Hamilton who had a bunch of injuries had that time anyway.

Festerling : Part of the Lapierre deal. Later traded for MacIntyre. Prospect Joe Stejskal took his spot later in the season

Dawes : Part of the Sopel-Maxwell deal. Dogs weren't scoring any goals. They had to make a move in order to improve in this area.

MacIntyre : Sandford got injured. The Randys tried Mayer, who was awful. Dogs had to get a decent AHL goalie if they wanted to make the playoffs.

The rest of team was either prospects who were far from being NHL ready and some AHL filler (yes you need some of those and it's not like we sent any notable prospects to the ECHL anyway). I'm sure a guy like Palushaj really enjoyed playing with Dawes and Boyd and I believe a guy like Henry really helped Brendan Nash.

Who's the rest of your top 6? Dumont, Conboy, Engvist?

There was a point last season were the Dogs were winning all their games 2-1 or 3-1 (ENG) and Dawes was scoring 50% of these goals. With that kind of offense, they have to hope that their goaltender gets a shutout every game to win.

Ggood for these guys... bit of a reward. If they have continued success over there, they'll prolly get a 1-way next year.

Someone should give Sanford an NHL contract! ...maybe us?

Its a good contract as they are going to clear about $800,000. each from the KHL . Not bad for a couple of tweeners who on a one way with the NHL would clear only around $350,000 . after taxes . Montreal made the decision for them a little easier . Will be interesting to see how Palush does playing with Atsvin . The Hamilton cupboards are bare for leadership . They will have to sign a couple of veteran guys for their guidance.

Good luck to Boyd and Dawes . They will do well in the KHL .

Atleast this move gives us a little relief in the 50 player with a contract limit. It also give Avstin a perminent top-6 role.

Ryan White Pyatt to name a few others . They are AHL players on any other team . White sucked on the Bulldogs . Had one good game against the Moose . Basically cost us the game seven against Houston .

They're really not AHLers in any organization. They have skills that translate to the NHL which make them effective 4th liners. Boyd and Dawes do not.

It's a relief for me. I didn't want to see another dwarf joining the Habs line-up.

Damn it! Now the Dogs' roster must be renewed!

But I don't think Tinordi is ready to be a Dog.

Habs will sign players to fill the holes this summer. There's lots of time left and they always do.

Hamilton's fine, they'll have Stejskal and Diaz coming in which gives them what, 8 D assuming Carle and St. Denis are re-signed.
