Nice, I'll be able to watch some of the Blue Jays games I miss if Videotron dosn't offer Sportsnet One.

Seems like a French version of Sportsnet. All those Blue Jay games and all those Sens games will probably be broadcast on Sportsnet, so I don't see a whole lot to get excited about there.

In terms of things that would pique my interest and is certainly doable: QMJHL games.

If they really wanted to cash in now is the time to show Hamilton games as well as Montreal QMJHL games.

With what they plan on showing now, nothing interests me. They're gonna need something that draws interest from a lot of fans, not just the casual Sens, Blue Jays or various other sports fans. With the lineup of teams they're showing now, I can't see this channel lasting very long...Thats just my personal opinion.

Also, forget about them ever getting the Habs. RDS and TSN are owned by CTV, and they hardly ever lose a bidding war anymore. Look how far TSN and RDS have come with NHL games, not to mention the fact that they stole all the CFL games and Grey Cup from CBC, Olympics etc etc.

I think they also have Morrisette, Laraque, Brisebois, Ciccone, Perron, Morrisette, Hartley (?). A bunch of SRC/RDS rejects...

How can Perron still have a job on TV? I watched him on LCN a few minutes ago and he is just akward and stupid.

LOL. I worked for the Tennis court right next to it.
I don't know if Perron drinks, but to me, he just looks and sounds like that drunken, imbecile uncle everybody has.

I hope TVA Sports steals Benoit Brunet away from RDS (wishful thinking).

I'm surprised TVA-SPORTS didn't make a move to steal L'IMPACT from SRC. That's the biggest Montreal sports team without a decent TV deal. (SRC sometimes shows their games on tape-delay.) With the MLS coming to town next year, it would be perfect timing to grab them.

But I agree Qhjml games would have been a decent tryout for the hockey analysts till Quebecor gets the Nordiques back.

Imagine the slanted news if PKP gets his No-dicks.

Bertrand Raymond "le CH ne pourra pas faire mieux qu'une 10e place dans l'est cette année. Du côté des Nordiques, moins qu'une première place et une coupe Stanley serait surprenant."

this. i dont know anyone who get telus tv so its a shame. The Q contract with telus end in 1 or 2 year so i would expect tvasports to knock on their door when the deal run out. Telus and Videotron are rivals. Canal Vox who's own by Quebecors (videotron) has show interested in the qmjhl showing a game of the week and this year have step and will show the Q Midget draft this saturday.

As of now, not much can't be done for the QMJHL and TVASPORTS.Maybe in a year or two. Also their also hope with RDS losing some tv rights to TVASPORTS would wake up and show some qmjhl game...but maybe im dreaming

about 90% of ohl game are broadcast on tv. i would say about 20% of qmjhl game are broadcast on tv wich is ridiculous

Exactly why I likely wont order this channel. Honestly can't stand hearing about people who have limited to no NHL experience talk about people's heart or lack there of.. or how they should fire the coaches every two months.

That would be a good start.
I heard they will.

And calm down people. I think it is pretty good for a first year channel who will try to take some of the monopoly RDS had for the last decade or so.

I'm not a big fan of UFC but I think it will attract a lot of viewers. Same thing for the European Soccer. And wait a year or two and they will probably end up with the Nordiques and even the Canadiens games. The MLS games as well...

I'm pretty sure people at RDS are pretty pissed about this. And thank god they will have to step up a notch to improve their mediocre concept of a Sport Channel.

I'm pretty sure RDS already signed with the MLS. TSN and RDS will both show the canadians' teams games.

I don't understand why nobody has mentionned yet that we will have UFC (St-Pierre) and boxing (Bute) events for free.

For me that's the big deal, even if I know that I could be just a few fights per year

They won't have the ''real'' UFC events for free. They will only have the prelims, fight nights and regular free things that you can already find playing on Spike TV or Sportsnet. It's a good news if you don't have any of these channels though. MMA will at least get more visibility in french.

From the link in the OP

Quote:
Basically, it says they will show live events, prelims from the PPV's and the Ultimate Fighter.

It'd be great if it included a number of the Bulldogs games. There won't be a huge market of interest, I suppose, but I certainly wouldn't miss many of them (except for the Saturday night games).
