Tor/cbj

TOR gets Filatov, 8th overall, and Brassard

CBJ gets Kulemin, Gunnarsson, and BOS 1st Rounder

The only way Brassard gets traded is for an upgrade at center.

The BJ's need a top line center and you want to take away that player who has been playing on their top line? They won't do it...

a bit surprised. Everyone said that the priority is a #2-3 or rock solid 4 for the #8.... and what about Ryan Johansen next year?

As a Toronto fan I wouldn't include Kulemin in this package.

Leafs are not moving Kulemin. He's just coming into his prime, and will be the type of player that every team wants in 2 years.

Columbus trading Brassard is like Toronto trading Grabovski without having or getting a centre of similar or greater skill back.

Kulemin is the best player in the trade and I wouldnt be surprised if 20 years from now had the best career out of them all.

Leafs dont even consider this. 3 years ago sure, now, not a chance.

Although Nash and Kulemin with a decent centre would be amazing to watch.

The BJ's should go into the UFA market to get a d'man. Johansen hasn't played in 1 NHL game yet!!! If the BJ's don't think that the 8th pick would be able to have an impact on their future roster, but viewed as an asset, can add depth to a need, then why would they want a lesser 1st rounder???

Please don't tell me your being serious. The 8th overall pick and nikita filabust isn't enough to land Kulemin by himself. Not to mention adding Gunnarsson and a 1st.

Why has Kulemin done to garner so much value?

Um why?

Kulemin just scored 30 goals.

Brassard has yet to break 50 pts. Filatov probably wont ever play in the league. The 8th will probably not be as good as Kulemin is now.

Then add Gunnarson, who looks liek he could be a solid #4, and a late 1st?

The Leafs lose this deal big time.

Maybe because he's a 24 year old 30 goal scorer who plays an excellent 2-way game?

I apologize, I didn't know his point totals were increasing as they are. However, he scored 30 goals, he's not a 30 goal scorer IMO.

Filatov's in the AHL. Brassard is a young centerman who just had 47 points on Columbus. It's not that bad.

I dont understand? 30g is 30g. Hes a budding PF. Very good on the puck, big, good defensively. Only 24. He didnt come out of nowhere either, he was Malkin's winger in the RSL.

He'll repeat if not improve.
