so hard to say. I hope MDZ, Erixon, and Valentenko all get shots at various points in the season. And not like a "crappy 3 games at 9 minutes a night" shot. 20+ games @ 18+ minutes
If someone is getting traded, I want them to at least do well in the NHL as to drive up their value.
edit: Valentenko = Volchenkov Lite + Slapshot. kid is a blocking machine.
anyone else feel like lighting up a cigarette while screaming aaaaaaaaaaaah after viewing all the talent we have on the blue line and also in the minors?lol

or is that just me....
Sather is lighting up a big cigar saying to himself:
Now I just need Brad and I can make a deal for the LW spot and the team will be set!
Teams will be lining up to get some of our young talented D that we can ask a lot for them and get some very skilled offensive players OR the potential replacement for Lundqvist when he gets to that age.
Valentenko in the minors, but a midseason callup because you know someone will get hurt. I love Tank and hope he gets a realistic shot.
I also wouldn't be shocked if Erixon started in Connecticut like McDonagh, and we find a surprise gem in Valentenko, similar to Sauer. Regardless, I'm so thrilled about our defense. It's really shaping up to be fantastic, albeit young.
one thing that we may unfortunately have to consider is the very real possiblility that McD or Sauer have a sophomore slump
id be more worried about McD than sauer, but it could happen to either...or both...
How about we just don't look at that as a possibility. All players have different sophomore years. I'm doubtful either have slumps, hopefully they'll come back more improved and ready for more.

Staal - Girardi
McDonagh - Erixon
Del Zotto - Sauer
Love that second pairing, very mobile and yet defensively responsible. The third pairing of sauer and MDZ is great because sauers rocks solid an should be able to make up for del zottos defensive mistakes.
