The Montréal Canadiens are proud to select, from Nobles, Stephen Miller.

We just see a lot of potential in this guy. He's already physically mature, he's a born goalscorer and he's not afraid to give and take punishment on the ice. He has the drive to get better, and we will give all the time he needs to round out his game at higher levels.

Chicago has been PM'd.

Draft Recap:

12th overall - Sven Bartschi (LW)
42nd overall - Daniel Catenacci (C)
72nd overall - Reece Scarlett (D)
102nd overall - Kalle Johansson (D)
162nd overall - Brent Benson (C)
192nd overall - Frankie Simonelli (D)

Time will tell, but as of right now I'm very happy with this group.

Okay, you guys gotta either slow down or speed way up, lol. I'm going away for a bachelor party weekend, and I get the feeling you're gonna push my pick to Saturday or Sunday. I really don't feel like making a list and committing to only 2 or 3 players at this point.

Impressive research, way off the radar with most of your picks but when I follow up for more info they sound like really strong prospects. Oleksiak still seems like a do-over of the Tinordi pick though

Where did you uncover Stephen Miller?

Ok ... I am going to take a flyer here with the last pick, HEY its the 7th round anyways, we were only supposed to do 5 .. lol .. P.S: I did a search and didn't find his name already drafted, so if somebody misspelled his name, I am sticking with my pick, lol

With their 7th round pick in the NHL draft, the Los Angeles Kings are proud to select, from Novosibirsk Sibir in Russia, defenseman Nikita Zaytsev.

"Nikita is a perfectly bilingual Russian Defenseman who has already stated his goal is to play someday in the NHL. With some work on his positioning, amongst a couple of other things he needs to work on, he can become a good overall defenseman and a valuable asset to an NHL team".

I believe he was .. I was surprised he wasn't picked last year, he has some skills and is willing to come to N.A when his contract runs out in 2012. Must have been that Russian thing

Zaytsev was second on my list at that point... So were Tvrdon and Wittchow for that matter, so yeah, I kinda like LA's draft.

Thanks, I suppose I do disagree about Oleksiak, obviously. I wasn't a big fan of Tinordi last year, and still isn't, so I don't really feel that way here. Miller and Jensen were really close... But I just felt Oleksiak, potential wise, could bring more.

As for Miller... Call it dumb luck I guess. I was searching names on this list http://www2.hfboards.com/3.7.hfboard...d.php?t=913265 And for some reason, decided to look at Miller while I was searching players around him... And I really liked what I found about him.

People always complain about our real picks, so comments like that actually make me feel good about it.

Garo did a great job of going off the board and researching his own picks.

Passing on Grimaldi, Boucher and Hudon would start a HF boards riot in reality though.

The board is split on Grimaldi. I for one do not want Grimaldi, Oleksiak, Biggs, Saad or at least be uneasy if we take Boone Jenner.

Now you have to sign his twin brother Ponthus. Swedish twins on the same team = can't miss!

I would like to thank all the MOD's on here for doing a wonderful job once again. It has been said before this mock draft is the best one on HFBoards by a mile. Also to my fellow drafters thanks for keeping this going quickly. Like also has been said the 7th round is for longshots so here it goes

The Toronto Maple Leafs select from the Kingston Voyageurs Tier 2 team Goalie Charlie Finn

Charlie moved from Vancouver to Kingston this year and starred with the Voyageurs. He had a 1.98 GAA during the regular season with a .933 SA In the playoffs he had a 2.68 GAA and a .927 SA

We feel we had an excellent draft this year. Our picks were
Scott Mayfield
Boone Jenner
Tomas Jurco
Tobias Rieder
Patrick Koudys
Peter Ceresnak
Justin Sefton
David Broll
Andrew Shaw
Carter Sandlak
Charlie Finn
