I really can't see the Rangers not getting him. Any time they want a big name player they usually get him. Plus he loves to play for Torts. And can anyone realistically see our Management pulling a move off like this? I can't.

NYR will say it's NY for sure because well it's the big apple.
But lets not forget the Leafs fans because as per all leaf fans every hockey player want to play for the leafs and at a big hometown discount.
So book in Richards to TO at 2 million per for 10 years.

NYR say it's them, because that's what Richards said to Dallas at the deadline. He has a NMC and of all the offers Dallas got at the TDL, he said he'd waive it only for the Rags. Well why didn't he get traded? Because the Rags offered scraps for him and Dallas was like "**** you, no deal"

Rangers will give him the long-term deal he wants and I hope he "Gomers" over there .. but this time we don't trade for him.

The reason why we wont get Richards is because of two players, Plekanec and Eller. Pleks is our 1st line center, at worst second.

Where does that leave Eller? 3rd line role for the next 4 years? Jaques Martin would never play him with an offensive player again. If we had a different coach then yes...its possible. Under this coach we won't have 3 skill lines. It just wont happen.
It's simple then, Eller becomes trade bait! Come on, you have the opportunity to sign Richards, you do it.

Or you trade pleks to someone like Florida who will be a cup contender in a few years for say the 5th overall pick so your center depth looks something like

Richards
Eller
DD
Leblanc

Not bad huh ?

I'm expecting the worse on July1st, him in Toronto or New York. Hopefully he ends up in LA, those are the 3 teams I think will be after him aggresively

You know that a player REALLY doesn't want to play here when the medias, who will not hesitate to bash the Habs whenever a player is not signed, says that Richards is NOT interested in playing in Montreal.

No need to speculate, no need to add Gill's money with Gomez and whatever....Richards would NOT have come to play here.

So what you saying is...
That if a certain medias were to drop the "s" & say pronounce it more like say "The Rocket" that they would be more interested?

You dont need to trade Eller, he is doing a pretty good job centering the third line, he is pretty tough to play against and its not like the Habs cant roll 3 lines that can score with regularity.. Just add a players like Palushaj and Desharnais or Leblanc in 2 years from now on the wings and you get a pretty solid third line..

I think we shouldnt miss the chance to become a real contender if ever Richards is interested to play here..

Stop posting *************** as if he's reliable, that idiot got me hyped during the trade deadline when everyone thought he was right.

New York would be pretty scary with Richards, they already have a top 5 goalie in the league and a good young D core too.

Give Eller some good linemates on the third line so he can develop properly and hopefully next year(or mid season this year) he or DD can slide into that second line center role.

I don't think Richards thinks twice about Montreal.

Forget about Richards he is on his last legs after his last injury and is not worth the money.....let Toronto get him or Detroit or whomever we will pick up Jagr for a couple seasons and Plekanec Cammalleri Jagr will absolutly light her up!

What makes you think Jagr will choose us over the Penguins?

I'm far from sold! I think there are better options at free agency for the same price.

:Fade in:

From the fiction writer that brought you "LeBron James to the Knicks a done deal." and "Semin Traded to the Islanders."

. . .

This summer . . . the monster returns in:

"Brad Richards to Toronto pending league approval."

An *************** production.
