18e Mondial de la bière
It's my favorite time of the year!
When : From june 8 to june 12
Where :
Place Bonaventure
The beers :

Don't show up at the Windsor station, it moved! They say the new location is twice as big as the Windsor station, which is great news.
Not sure if it's me, but the list of beers seems a lot bigger than the previous beers. It's going to be tough to choose which ones to taste.

I actually have cash this year, so there'll be no excuse for not taking my gf to this.

I'd go just to taste A l'abri de la tempête beers. Just because.

i've been going to the beerfest since they moved it from the Old Port to gare windsor. it'll be nice to have a bigger location, but i'm going to miss the outdoor section. but maybe that's just because i'm a smoker

It's 1$ per ticket, beers sample can cost from 1 to 5 tickets.
Samples are 3-4 oz.

This will just be the second one I have missed since 2001. The city is going to be nuts with the Grand Prix also that weekend. A friend of mine who also attends most years was considering making the trip, until the few hotel rooms that he found available (back in April) were going for 3-5 times the normal rate.
I hope that those who do go experience a good beer festival, rather than the drunken idiot festival it has been the last few years.

Not sure what you're expecting from a beer fest. Compared to the Oktoberfest in Germany, this is nothing.

The Chambly festival is even better IMO but I never miss the Mondial either.
That new Libre-Échange from Dieu du Ciel is pretty damn good, try it if you get the chance.

It's always packed and tough to walk around...but I'll be going for the third straight year. Prolly head out a couple of days, actually.

Not worth being in a crowded room to have expensive, mostly crappy, beers. Cool idea in theory, but it'll never work.

Try dépanneur de la rive in Cap Rouge. They have hundreds of beers from different countries so if you can't find it there then its likely not available in Qc city.

I went to the Chambly one last year... definitely awesome. But Mondial is great in its own right.

What I would expect from a beer fest is people having a good time sampling different beers. Getting buzzed from having a bit too much is one thing, however, if you want to get ****faced, why not save some money and just go to Peel Pub?

Going for the first time this year..
btw, what's the best place in Montreal to taste the best beers around? I tried "Bieres et Compagnie" on St-Denis but I am wondering if there is a better selection somewhere else.
