Nasty cheap shot elbow. Sucks that Cowen is hurt, ugh that's a big loss on the blueline.

Actually Ski, he was O"sullivan and it happened in the first period, he got one more shift, which was on the Condra goal, then he didn't play again.

The good news is he did get the shift and stayed on the bench until the end of the first, so hopefully it was just precautionary and he is ready for Tuesday.

Watching it on Sportsnet, it happened just as Cowen and POS were going off the top of the screen. Cowen's head did snap back.

He pretty much fits the pro hockey definition of "loser":

A huge talent, picked 1st in the OHL draft, 2nd round to NHL. But is lazy / stupid / scared / heartless and never develops properly. Now his NHL career is pretty much done and he's a career minor leaguer despite tons of talent. I bet a lot of hard-working AHLers look at O'Sullivan and wish they had his talents, and wouldn't squander it.
Blaming his old man for his troubles to total strangers in his scouting interviews for his draft year was really stand-up too.

Well, if what he said was true, I doubt he even wants to be a hockey player. Having to walk home with his gear over 8 miles while his dad drove beside him in the truck yelling because he lost is pretty brutal. Odds are is that he's very talented but doesn't actually want to be here but it pays the bills and he's sort of stuck. It's pretty sad and I'll always have a sense of pity for the guy but what he did to Cowen is pretty BS and I hope Gryba or Smith gives him a wake up call.

Would it not absolutely suck if Cowen can't come back and Bingo goes on to lose these next 2 games in Houston with Jared's absence?

Is POS getting acctually punished for this? Like say, not getting to play the rest of the playoffs as well as a few games next season? If not, why the ****** not?

POS got a minor for elbowing, and I seriously doubt the AHL has post game reviews with video.

I hope so, but the defence didn't look too good after Cowen got injured. Smith and Kinrade have to play much better, they were giving up the puck with some regularity.

I would like to see Schira and Wiercoich play, sit Kinrade.

Healthy scratches don't win you championships. But with only one vioctory left, I hope you are right.

Houston has been the better team in games 1 and 2 in Houston.

I think them losing Spurgeon is greater..totally agree on Schira for Kinrade

Saw this on Twitter, I suggest this means Cowen didn't suffer a concussion as Warren reported in the Citizen, doctors usually restrict air travel when a person has been concussed.

So hopefully he has been cleared to play and taking him out of the game was erring on the side of caution.

Also good to see they chartered out this morning, and that Ottawa helped cover the cost.

Last but not least, want to wish Coach Sterling a speedy and full recovery from his surgery, get well soon.

Why is it notable that Wick is traveling with the team? Was he injured?

I think everyone traveled this time. If they have a clinch, I think they want everyone there to celebrate. Not sure why that would be a surprise.
