Wouldn't that be something? I think Burke would be able to move up for one of them, but both would cost us a significant amount, unfortunately.
Well that's only 2 spots. If Burke moves the 25th and 39th, we should be able to get into the 16-19 range.
I agree. I am really hoping we can land one of McNeil or Puempel. Obviously the latter being more realistic. One of those 2 would be great to have in the organization.
I read something by Richard Cloutier that said Columbus was looking for a 1st, 2nd, and another asset for their 8th overall.
Burke has already stated he's willing to package the 1st and 2nd.... Hopefully he's on top of this and can have us drafting 8th overall and 29th overall.
If that was the case, I'd be hoping for Mika Zebanajad at #8. He could very-well develop into a #1 center with the right developing.

I'm not sure about Columbus' money situation, but maybe a trade like this could be worked out:
To Toronto
Mike Commodore
8th Overall
To Columbus
29th overall
39th overall
Carl Gunnarsson/Tyler Bozak
Toronto 2nd 2012
Conditional 2nd 2013 (depending if the 8th overall pick plays 60+ games in two years)

Agreed, I think either one could be a steal, and I would be thrilled to have either.

You're right, it is a stretch, but you never know. I was just providing a bit of a larger range because as we know, surprises happen.

He said first, second, and another assest.... Lol.
Based on Ulf's list, my choice would be using the Boston second to trade the 25th up to the 18-20 range or so, and draft either McNeill, Scheifele, or Jenner (ranked in that order), though it's tough to see McNeill or Scheifele being available. Then draft Biggs with the 29th and Percy with the 39th.
We add a skilled, decently sized center, a powerforward winger with plenty of grit, and a solid two-way defenseman.
I've read the Rangers are looking to move down in the draft. They have the 15th overall pick I believe right? Anyone else hear/read about this?
There was a proposal on the main board about the leafs 1st and two 2nds or something like that for the Rangers' 1st and Rangers fans were very receptive to it. It doesn't necessarily mean the Rangers are looking to move down, but it gives some indication that depth is as important as a quality pick when it comes to their prospect pool.

I saw Richard Cloutier mention the Blue Jackets price for 8th overall. I would love to know his source. Cloutier always blogs about hyping the Oilers and trying to diss/make fun of other teams in order to garner a reaction from the non-Oiler fans. Rarely does he give any insight or analysis other than hoping to deal Cogliano and Brule for other teams' stars while not willing to give up mid prospects for a player he wants. He easily could have made it up or heard from a friend of a friend of his.
Though if this price is right, well its something we should consider. A 1st a 2nd and another piece, ya we have that but you need to wonder how low of a first they want plus what that piece is. But Columbus fans have been mentioning that Howsen wants someone who can contribute right now cause they need to make the playoffs. So I'm not sure what to believe.
