David Krejci - Leads NHL in goals, 2nd in points, 4 game winners.. where's the love?
I have barely heard this mentioned locally, not getting much play from what I can tell.
David Krejci leads NHL in playoff goals, game winners, and is 2nd in points.
Quite an accomplishment, hell of a run for the kid.
A few people have even whined about felger loving krejci too much, maybe it just seems that way since much of media largely ignores this tremendous young player.
11 goals, 20 points, 4GW (also leads the league). As other thread says fine well developed 2 way game.
Leading NHL in those categories deserves much more play than it has gotten.
Extend him this summer. He becomes a RFA after next year. He's one of the reason I don't want to spend 7-8 m on another forward. We need to get him signed long term. Let Kaberle walk and sign a couple of defensemen and Marshmont.
A lot of teams wish they had a solid #1 center. We have two.
Krejci and Bergy are both going to be monsters next year, and the added attention they will draw from opposing defense's will open it up for Seguin, that is unless he's lighting it up on Bergy or Krejci's wing.
And for the record, my intention with this thread is 100% positive, not looking to make people to come begging for forgiveness for not expecting this of #46.
Whether you loved him or thought he was over-rated, I think we can all agree that he has now proven himself to be an elite and superb playoff performer.
Fun thread, no crow eating requested or allowed, just enjoy the great run this kid is on, he has in ways carried us up front and is a legit MVP candidate (along with TT and a couple of canucks if those scum somehow happen to win the series).
Props indeed. He's done it rather quietly somehow. I was critical of him earlier for being less intense than I thought he could be, but he's getting it done. WTG Krech!
Let's hope he continues to find success with whoever his new RW is.

I was just going to say that. Based on his play this season he's going to get a decent pay raise from 3.75. Give him something similar to Bergy's deal. I expect them to have a deal done by the first game of the season.
I love Krejci and all he brings to this team. I love his new found spunk and swagger. He has arrived.

I'm excited for next year.
Yup. Especially, if Savvy comes back. I'm sure he can bring the sniper out in Sequin. I'd put C. Kelly with them for his defensive presence and checking. Put them two together. And, you have a 3RD line that can put the puck in the net. We're not going to be like the Blackhawks. One and done.

I agree but how much of a raise will he get? 4.5-4.75? Or is that too low? I would love to get him locked up long term.

And him doing it quietly is part of the reason it's gone unnoticed. Awesome to see his resurgence after last year's injury!
Bergy is at 4.75 next year then 5 mil the 3 years after that. Krejci's at 3.75 now. $4.3-4.5 seems reasonable to me over the next 3 years.
I firmly believe that he and Bergy are Boston Bruins for their entire careers.
I hope that happens. Having solid center depth with Seguin, Bergy and Krejci for years would be huge. Add in an elite winger into the mix and this team will be good for many years.
Krejci is a guy who steps it up at the most critical times. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with his play.
He's been great. I want him to stay in Boston long-term. I take back any time I've suggested trading him in the past. A huge part of the team and its success - now AND in the future.
What kills me is that you'd think the NHL/NBC/Versus would be shoving him down our throats as the 2nd coming after this performance, but all we keep hearing about are the ******* Sedins.

Only problem is he isn't American and his name isn't Ryan Kesler therefore he can't be ballwashed.

I could be wrong, but I think the Bruins have to wait until 2012 to extend his contract (meaning January 1st at the earliest). I think Chia said something about that before he extended Chara's contract.
He does not a mention in any Conn Smythe discussion, it's quite sad really, they (the sports writers and TV hacks) are too busy giving Ryan Kesler his daily washing.
Seriously, during the pregame show on Team 1040 yesterday a Vancouver writer came on and said he thought Kesler had been brilliant because he had made David Krejci "disappear" in the series thusfar.
You know....David "best player on the ice in game 2" Krejci.
It is repulsive.
Krech has grown so much as a player the last month. It's amazing what happens when you SHOOT THE PUCK!

Reason #1,584 I want to beat those punks. CBC would be HILARIOUS, the disappointment in Jim Hughson's voice will be so gratifying. All the writers will be scrambling to think of who they should give the CS to etc.
